mixing up - vermischen, verwechseln, Verwechslung.

So I think it was ok to use it as you're still thinking the Rhein-Area (Köln, Düsseldorf, Leverkusen, Gladbach) is the Ruhr Area (Schalke, Dortmund, Bochum etc) :D

Most likely. With just 6 points from 12 matches it needs a very good run now if they want to stay up. But a match in the "Zwei" is always worth a watch. It won't be a Köln vs HSV match, though, next season :whistle

    What is etc?

I've tried attending leagues games at the RHEIN Stadion twice. First time was a home game vs Sankt Pauli in the Zwei which I couldn't get tickets for and 2nd was a home game vs Mainz which was postponed and then played behind closed doors because of the covid. There seems to be some kind of powerful force not wanting me to go there so if I have to wait for Köln to finally go back to the Zwei (which is where they belong, sorry but if you're denying me tickets twice you don't deserve to stay up) and host a subpar side like HSV (doubt I'll get tickets for that one, btw) then so be it.

Some bloke on the ESTC Facebook with the projections for allocations and cap cut-offs.

If he’s right I’m guaranteed a ticket for the 3 group games and the final so got my fingers crossed he’s got it right.

    Tough one for the Scots.

Impossible group if Wales get through.

Not a bad group at all for England. It's comin...

Tough for Scotland but not impossible. Germany will piss it but they've (Scotland) a chance against the other two.

    Me :D

btw: Draw was in Hamburg, in the Elbphilharmonie

Thank god we didn't draw Italy or the Netherlands, that was my biggest fear.
Opening match of the Euro 2024 will be : Germany vs Scotland. I like the Scots and Flower of Scotland

edit: Why did Sami Khedira did the draw for Germany? We have bigger legends to represent us (but the same could be said for England with Steve Manamana :D

Lovely draw for both Portugal and England in the group stages

Looks like England will have to get by France to get to the final ?

Actually think Scotland’s group is quite open. Germany are still shit, Switzerland are always good for a solid if unspectacular run and Hungary could surprise a few

Time for revenge against the French. About time we beat them.

Nice that we play Serbia for the first time.

No matter how shite we are actually or before, it was always enough, so far, beating Portugal in the World Cup or the Euro ;)

Can we meet in the further schedule (if both of us come out of the group that is ;) )?

Who the f##k do I support in Germany v Scotland !? Hopefully it will be the worst 0-0 draw of all time, with a few red cards.

We can indeed! There’s quite a few permutations where that could happen. But on the basis that we win our group you’d also need to win the group or go through in one of the 3rd place spots.

England away in Gelsinkirchen against Serbia? No, thank you. Thats going to be ugly.

Looking at Frankfurt or Cologne, Luxembourg right next to it and makes sense but thousands will be looking at that too.

As for the groups. Poor Scotland. Dont think we have it easy either. Beauty of the Euros, every game or group is tough because you end up with a good European side rather than a lower rate side like the world cup.

Games I'm attending are Spain/Croatia in Berlin on June 15th and Belgium/Slovakia in Frankfurt on the 17th. Would have preferred an England game but those are not bad games either.

Still haven't got a ticket for Köln so booked the Scotland/Switzerland game which will be on the 19th and to kill time between games, I also booked Turkey vs PO winner C in Dortmund on the 18th. Could do Stuttgart between the Berlin and Frankfurt games but it's not on the way and the ground is a bit meh.

France got an alright group even though facing Holland is getting a bit tedious now (we just met them in the group stages). I actually fancy Austria to finish 2nd in that group while we always get drawn with a side that hasn't qualified yet!
In terms of grounds, this draw couldn't have been more bland. Our first game is at Düsseldorf (the Ikea ground, horriible from the outside), then it's off to Leipzig (very far and not very good). If we finish top, we also play in Leipzig. Good thing we've got our 3rd game in Dortmund and that the semi will also be in Dortmund. If we do finish top and progress to the final, it looks like we'll be spending most of our time in East Germany.

Potential semi v England in Dortmund though. That could be fun.

Italy playing in Dortmund is something I would like to witness in my life, but I think it would be extremely difficult to find a place to stay after the draws.

After the 2006 semifinals this stadium became so iconic for all of us, when you say Westfalenstadium it only means one thing. I was watching the draws yesterday and when they found out that we’d have played the first match in Dortmund everyone starter cheering.

Yeah, Westfalenstadion in Dortmund 2006. Semifinal Germany vs Italy 0-2
Heartbreaking for us with the 2 goals for Italy in the 119th and 120+1 minute. :(

It was great to see Gigi Buffon presenting the Euro Trophy and to hear his warm words about Germany 2006 (and great that he didn't mention the heartbreaking loss in the semi-final for Germany against the eternal rival ;).)
Always a gentleman and true sportsman.
