When is the next Copa America - maybe he'll do that one?

No pressure on the Messi kids btw if they become footballers.

What's the betting one becomes a hard nosed aggressive defender - if there is a such a thing nowadays.

Lionel Messi is the GOAT and my New Years resolution will be to stop eating tons of food and exercise more (Mountain biking will be my preferred choice)

But the 70's and 80's players would be fitter now too, given modern training regimes.

Watch George Best getting kicked on mud-baths. Players like that would be amazing in any age.

Ya and they'd all be playing on a level playing field when it comes to fitness. The fittest players back then had a big advantage

This will get lost because of who won the final but Kylian Mbappe scored a hat trick in a World Cup final today  A hat trick!

He’s already on 12 goals in World Cups, just four shy of Klose’s record.

He’s in the top 20 goal scorers of all time in the European Cup.

He’s sixth on France’s list of all time scorers with 36 goals.

He has over 200 career goals already.

And he’s still only 23. And despite not winning and being beaten by Messi, today still felt like a passing of the torch. This man is a monster.

It's like filling up your car though, what if he accidentally ends up on 101, does he have to carry on to 200?

What a finish for his non penalty goal, amazing player

Just been looking at the managers stats as manager of Argentina and it said he played for West Ham , don't remember him. Possibly a signing help Tevez and Mascherano settle in.

Didn't end well because of how the FA Cup final ended that season, as Scaloni himself recently said -

He's definitely learned from the experience if today is anything to go by though.

Yes he scored 3 goals (2 pens) today and made a big push at the end of the game. But he's a player who's needed the entire game and he simply was not there. Mbappe is a beast but he doesn't press.

For 80 minutes, the final didn't live up to the hype. The hour or so that followed was the best World Cup final action I can remember. But it's not even the best game I've seen this year.
