let 'em get on with it and kid themselves, the two major trophies are European Cup and league title on which Liverpool now lead 26-23 sure people can, and will, scrape below those two to claim "most successful", but you then get into arguments what is big enough and let's face it Liverpool are joint top on Premier League/1st Division titles but joint 3rd for European Cups compared to mancs in joint 7th although that may be outright 8th if Inter join Ajax in joint 6th and if that isn't embarrassing enough, chelski are only one behind, as are forest despite the latter not dominating domestically and thus rarely being innit fun note, Inter's wiki page for 24/25 seasos shows "winners" against Champions League in the summary of placings at the top! (only says "final" on the PSG page)
FWIW I don't care, bragging rights over most successful when sitting bottom 1/4 of the league is hysterical!
Hit out is bit of stretch. I just watched his interview with Neville. It was really smart of him to emphasise on the point that sometimes being at the same place for 20 years can cause a mental fatigue.
Player backing his team mate shocker ,but in the real world fans will now go that much further in making themselves heard if the club try and push this agenda that the devious tw@t deserves a farewell. Salah should have stayed firmly on the fence and kept his grid shut ,one thing a Liverpool player never does is question the fans support or indeed in the rats case the reasons behind why they hold off on that support. Ill- advised soundbite from Salah that.
Players don't understand thst, they see the effort the put in while there. Trent is a proper scouser so should know better than salah who wouldn't have got the same if he said he wanted a new challenge most likely?
In that case, maybe the fact that a Liverpool player (and not just any Liverpool player, but literally Salah) is doing that means you need to take a long, hard look a yourselves?
I couldnt give a flying f*ck what Salah has to say ,he's an extremely well paid Liverpool player not a Scouser. It's OK if the neutral fans don't concur with the sentiments or lack of them shown last Sunday ,because to be honest I never expected them to ,but I firmly believe in the aftermath of those scenes it's more than discernible that it would be extremely unwise to introduce him in a red shirt again regardless of what his seemingly bemused team mates have to say. I mean do you in all honestly see the reception altering and suddenly morphing into one of reverence ,because I don't and certainly not on the back of what a player has said. It's a well worn cliche ,but no player is bigger or has ever been bigger than the club or indeed the collective known as the fans they play in front of. In summary ,Liverpool fans will do what they do and if the rest of the football world don't get it ,then f*cking tough ! I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over it.
Amazing how much of a big deal has been made of this and how disgusting Liverpool fans are for booing, according to others...wasn't too long ago Man United fans were booing Zirkzee as he was subsituted for merely having a poor game or those adorable Arsenal fans booing Xhaka, not forgetting how Wenger was treated (booed, banners basically telling him to **** off and some knobhead hiring a private plane to do similar with a huge banner), then we have Everton fans booing and targetting their owner who was at the time suffering from the cancer that killed him, as well as physically attacking a female board member, Southampton fans giving Lalana much grief and many more. Yet fans of these clubs are acting like we're the only ones that have ever booed...amazing how things Liverpool fans do is always been seen as being worse than others, always.
Other than some nice stirring of the wooden spoon I don't know why you felt the need to post this in here there's a TAA thread in the LFC section of the forum. We literally got asked by fans of other clubs to create a TAA thread and keep it in there so we did and we still get neutrals starting the debate back up in other threads. Guaranteed we'll get blamed for this soon.
It's not about what the rest of the football world thinks or doesn't think. In fact I've said on here previously that I fully understand why Liverpool fans have reacted the way they have, and don't think you're wrong for doing so. My point is and was that Salah is undoubtedly a leader in your dressing room, and the fact he's come out and said this publically strongly indicates that the sentiment is the one overwhelming shared by the players. Supporting the team is a pointless exercise if the players don't actually feel supported. If there's ever a time for some introspection surely it's when a club legend comes out and says "I think you guys are being over the top"? Again, I'm not even suggesting that Liverpool fans are wrong for reacting how they've reacted, just that jumping to a gut reaction of "the customer is always right" rather than treating the fans as an actual part of the club who are just as fallible as the players, coaches and owner is silly.
