Need to bounce back after the disappointment of Sunday's FA Cup defeat. We've gone a little while without a league win as well. We've got some knocks to nurse after the weekend so I wouldn't be surprised if we're forced into some changes to the starting 11 and maybe managing some minutes. Hopefully Christie and Kluivert can appear off the bench at some point at least but doubt either will start. On the plus side Kerkez and Huijsen come back in after suspension and will be two massive players to have fresh and fit. I remember we pinched the points up there in the last moments and were a little fortunate. Ipswich were a match for us until they tired out and dropped off the last 20 mins.
3-0 Bournemouth We have got two points this year and getting relegated with barely a whimper being put up. Basically, i'm ready for next season
Quite a decent lineup I think. Tuanzebe back, Burgess over Greaves and a deserved start for Broadhead. Townsend ahead of Davis, again deserved I think. One eye on Saturday I guess but still. Chappers back in the bench after injury, hooray. Sort of 3-4-2-1, could be 5-4-1 without the ball. Struggling to summon up much enthusiasm but anyway, come on the Town ffs.
Fantastic to be winning but I don’t like the idea of keeping Johnson on for the second half. He looks like a lost chicken on and off the ball.
More of your bloody agents at it again! FFS Ah well, season unravelling at a pace. AI looking like a one trick pony and I think Spurs already have one of those? Big HT talk needed.
Thought we'd get done tonight, we have spectacularly run out of gas this season. Can see us finishing around 13th now tbh, which is - I won't lie - gutting considering where we were after that Newcastle game in January. Congrats to Ipswich, defended well and took their chances.
No complaints, we were appalling and have been for six weeks. Everyone around us strengthened in January, we made our paper thin squad weaker. Shame for the season to blow up like this but we just don’t have the depth. The likes of Scott, Jebbison, Brooks just aren’t going to get us results.
Indeed. On the beach perhaps? Nice overlap from Townsend though. And amusing to see Delap just leather it, none of this passing it into the net malarkey.
Ipswich probably the best away end we've had this season, great noise. We have these games every now and again when we go behind against a more conservative side than ourselves. We can often find a way out of it, but West Ham, Palace, Wolves and tonight Ipswich we just looked devoid of ideas in getting back into it. McKenna sets up well both in and out of possession. The two banks both defend but also don't leave themselves too open to being pressed in possession. When the press isn't there and we have to create, those defenders could head away 1000 crosses of the sort we were putting in. It could have gone very differently if we'd taken the lead. 20 mins in I think we had one cleared off the line, and 60 seconds later the balls in our net down this end. Different and difficult game from then on. I thought the penalty looked pretty soft (though they always seem to stick against us away everywhere) and wasn't surprised to see VAR say no... but give it as a foul outside the box?! Either it's a foul and a pen or its not. And I'd probably say not if I'm honest in how I'd want the game refereed. But to give it as a foul, nowhere near where any challenge took place, seemed weird to me, like they fabricated a compromise. One and only Ipswich error at the back let us in the game and we grew a bit of momentum, but never really had the quality I don't think. Unlucky with the run or bounce of the ball etc, that's how it goes, you need a bit better. Always impressed by Delap ever since he was 17, and again tonight. Going onto big things that lad. Well done Ipswich on an executed job. Normally sides who go down struggle to do the basics, but that certainly isn't true of you guys.
Too much hype after the Newcastle & Forest games, too many players believing their own hype. Few niggles mounting up now too. Been found out to a degree also. Where our wonder boy manager needs to earn his wedge.
Well bugger me I didn't expect that. Nice to hit that magic 20 point mark. Great to see Broadhead get a Premier League goal. He's got so many crucial goals for us the last couple of seasons and is another one now to have scored in L1, Championship and now the Prem for us.
