I always enjoy bumping threads like this.

Fantastic to see that Bostock for example, got more votes than Bale on the poll

I went with Obika - I really don't know why!

I wonder if we started a similar thread now, with players like Carroll, Mason, Coulibaly, Smith, Pritchard etc, who would 1. get the most votes now, and 2. who turns out the best. I wonder if we would be completely wrong again.

Edit: Incidentally, Caulker and Livermore, who are arguably the most recent breakthroughs, didn't even cross our minds then despite being at the club.

what a hilarious read that was. i assume this was in that period where we were probably linked with ashley young/stewart downing every other week in the media (zzz).
you have to give it to 'fightthefuture' he seems to have been correct with Bale- although those that voted Thudd would have been correct aswell.

Will Bostock ever make the step up. It seems a while ago now that he was touted by the English media as the nest best thing? Also Dean Parret?

Not had nearly enough game time. Looks a tricky little player but he's not had too many chances to show what he can do. Hopefully start to see a bit more of him under AVB.

not really a huge fan but i've only seen him about 4 times. decent but nothing special. he played 1 game for southampton on loan last season when they were in the championship. thats looks ominous really.

really hoping this ceballos lad is better than him- if we ever play him??
