I still believe there's one moment of magic to come from Vicente before he leaves at the end of the season. Would love to see him come on after 70 mins and score.

I doubt he'll even come on.

Interesting stat, and proof that Holloway should be telling our team to attack from the start.

I desperately hope we play with pacey players (Zaha, Bolasie, Williams, Moritz, Banton) as I think we could stretch the game and cause Calderon/Upson/Greer problems.

He's never looked so good when he starts, by far better used as an impact player with 30 left. He could be very important for us on Monday if things are still even after 60 mins. And he can take a penalty!

Yep, agree with that team. Might play Crofts ahead of Hammond as I think he's better in the attacking sense and was one of our best players in the Wolves game. LuaLua is always a bit of a gamble in the starting 11 but if he's on form is our best attacking player.

Vicente is a definite for the squad. I expect we will get seven corners in 90 minutes and there is a good case for him on at the start in place of David Lopez. He is the faster of the two but his shooting looked a shade rusty against Wolves. He can't compete wide because Buckley has shown he is better and Orlandi is more effective by a shade.

I think Vicente will play some part in the home leg which is bound to go to extra time. I think there will be changes. We had our best team on form out on Friday, but they did not perform in attack.

I thought Crofts was anonymous against Wolves and quite a few matches. Hammond at least gets into the game and covers more ground.

Only one plus for Barnes is that he plays well when Vicente sets him up for a chance.

He assisted both goals. Admittedly LuaLua still had a bit to do but it was his best game for quite a while and without a doubt is better at shooting than Hammond.

"so evenly matched that you almost wish you could fast-forward to its conclusion, to the one moment of outrageous brilliance or outrageous luck that will likely decide it all. These 90 minutes produced none." ( Jonathan Liew, at Selhurst Park) Telegraph
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...Crystal-Palace-0-Brighton-0-match-report.html

Sums up my thoughts, except it was always going to be the second game.
"But in truth, the gap may as well be nothing. That is how finely this tie is balanced. Away goals, remember, do not count.
“One action, one quality action from any of the players, can decide the tie,” Brighton manager Poyet said. “We are in a better position than two hours ago, so I will take this result.”

One moment of magic which is why I want to see Vicente start.

Or it could be one minute of foolhardiness, silly mistake or the Clattenburg's whistle.

Yeah, I can understand his frustration. Barely played since coming back from injury.

Need to play on the counter, Yala and Wilf have to start. And they need to stay out wide.

Seen so many posts like this on HOL and I don't understand them at all. Yes, it would be nice to attack and win 3-0, but we're not chasing the game. We aren't behind in the tie. Moritz doesn't really track back, Bolasie is woefully out of form and Banton untested above League 2. Why would you throw them all in the team at once?

Will Palace start with Phillips up front - must be a better bet to score than the chap they brought on for the unfortunate Murray?

    Fancy Brighton to win though.

Very tricky to forecast. Both teams have players to win the game with a special piece of skill, but none of this was on show in the first game.

Watched this for the 50th time and now I too am of the mind Monday night will see something special from Vicente.

Quite a sad career really. When one of the best in the world 8 years ago and bids of £30 million rejected, I doubt he pictured himself anywhere near a 2nd tier English club's bench further down the line. Injuries have really spoilt what should have been a brilliant career. Hopefully he can have a few more special moments before bowing out.

Interestingly he said in the programme that his biggest ambition in football now is to play in the Premier League. I wonder if we'd retain him if we got there, I can't see anybody else wanting to take the punt on him, he'd need to go somewhere with a heavy Spanish contingent too.

He's undoubtedly the classiest and most talented player in the league, sadly been too sporadic this season though.

    Flair League

See you in the final then.

Magic quality (4 play-off teams) in order:

Lualua, Zaha, Vicente, Buckley, David Lopez, Orlandi, my tips ....

Second league: Bridge, Calderon, Knockeart, ???
