Up the f**king Spurs! I'll post something more coherent when I wake up, assuming I haven't dreamt this.
That's not all he shown ,has he never heard of Jacamo ? Joking ,delighted for the fella and the Spurs fans on here. Congratulations Spurs.
FFS what an absolutely shite game of football. Could tell we were watching two of the worst teams in England. Spurs won't care though now. Trophy - and CL football, ££££££$$$$$ which means investment and improvement next season no doubt. Really happy for Ange. He's took so much shite this season (rightly so for the league form) but delivered a trophy. But what next for Utd? No European football next season. That was an absolutely horrific display as well. Looked like a team that had no idea how to play football.
Honestly, I don't really care that it was a shit game. So was 2019's Champions league final and to some extent, I think it played out the same way. Liverpool were happy for us to do nothing in that game after taking the lead and we did exactly the same last night. I said earlier in the week that the build up to this final felt different and I expected us to do it. I had this feeling all week that we were winning x-nil. I was ready for a big defensive performance and we really showed up last night, helped by United being toothless. It was a fantastic day in Bilbao and topped off with a special result at the end. Really pleased for the likes of Son and Ange but mostly pleased for our supporters who've taken a lot of shit over the years and suffered so many nearly moments. It was special to witness that long wait end. Hopefully it won't be another 17 years before the next one! We'd beat them again tbf. Absolutely absurd but I hadn't seen us do a league double over United prior to this season. We've been garbage but beaten them four times this season!
United so far off their perch they are just scratching around in the bird shit at the bottom of the cage! Some of my United friends gave me stick when we got knocked out by PSG, by god it felt nice giving it back bigger. The club is just rotten to the chore, and they don't play as a team, too many individuals in it for themselves. Garnacho tweeting to moan about game time etc just after losing a final to Spurs all about sums it up. As for Spurs, I'm absolutely over the moon that you won the trophy, a massive congratulations to the Spurs fans that are on here. A year for the birds, and teams (barring us) that haven't won a trophy in years. Palace, Newcastle and now Spurs.
Man Utd are a disgrace. The focus now on Amorin and what he can do with the squad and what players he can attract with a lesser budget and no European football after his woeful decisions last night and if Utd are bottom half of table come Christmas he can **** off.
I quite enjoyed the game! I remember watching Palace in the cup final and thinking that some of the close football I saw them play was of a standard usually reserved for only the top teams and showed the quality of Premier League football. Then last night, that kind of quality just wasn't there! I don't recall seeing a pass or someone getting out of a tight situation or a moment of magic that made me think 'WOW' through the whole game However, I found it kind of fascinating. It was a battle of two opposing styles. I heard on Talk Sport last night, United fans saying they were the better team, but I think they're confusing more possession with being better. Spurs defended, but in the first half in particular, looked the more dangerous when they got forward. For all their possession, United created sweet FA. For all their possession, they had an XG of less than 1. With 73% of the ball and chasing the game for the whole of the second half, if they really were the better team, they would look like scoring, but XG of 1.03 to 0.97 in favour of Supds shows how ineffective they were all night. Worse still, in the first half, when the game was tied, United XG was just 0.21 Poor quality for sure, but the jeopardy was there and it was quite fun to watch IMHO, but the truth is, Spuds parked the bus after half time and United simply weren't good enough to do anything about it This leaves United in a real state now, because they massively need improvements, but they won't be attractive to top players. If they had won, playing in the UCL, with additional funds to spend, along with still being a name that players around Europe think of as big, would have given them a decent chance at re-building. I expect a lot of players who have been linked with a move to Old Trafford will now distance themselves from such a move
Imagine if United had someone in their side with the ability of say, Marcus Rashford? Oh, hold on.. Anyway, congratulations to the Spurs lot on here, well deserved..
Had a bad feeling about it and after about 10 minutes knew we weren’t on it. Diabolical performance. Great city and a top few days ruined by the football. Fair play to spurs, decent support and got on well with all the ones we mingled with. Managed 2 pints after game and ****ed off out of dodge as your lot started filtering out
Whenever I'm feeling bad I'm just going to think of those two poor Man Utd fans who walked through the Spurs fans yesterday, got absolutely drenched in beer, saw their team lose in a major final then woke up this morning having to travel all the way home from Bilbao. Probably spent £1000+ as well.
Pleased to see the trophies spread around this season. I didn't watch it as I was at work, but the funniest thing was my Arsenal supporting colleague spitting feathers. I wouldn't say well done as it appears to have been an awful match, but congratulations to Spurs.
Their entitlement back in the early 90's when they won their first title in years still grates tbh. But to be fair, most of them I have encountered over the years have been sound enough. Big big problems at that club now though....
