We have an absolute dreadful record against Derby recently. They are our new bogey team. We will wear a special kit celebrating the Hawthorns being 125 years old. Old score board in one of the corners too.

2-1 Derby going by recent games against them.

Going by the season so far I'll go with 2-0 albion

Don’t think SWFC are as poor as people expected them to be but still a great opportunity to get another 3 points away from home.

Unchanged side from the one that beat Hull 4-2.

    1-2. (Bannan 50’) (Riis 58’, Mehmeti 80’)

We've done well against Boro at Deepdale in recent season. Decent side again this year but shouldn't be overly worried about anyone in this league at home.

Hoping Osmajic and Devine are back, Armstrong should come straight into the side, and Dobbin, Frokjaer, and Jebbison should be fully fit now. Hoping Offiah finally claims his place in the side, too.

    Iversen
    Offiah, Gibson, Hughes
    Valentin, McCann, Armstrong, Small
    Devine
    Osmajic, Dobbin

We will have a completely different look/set-up to what we have had so far this season - it's taken over a month but bar Nelson, Langas & a couple needing match fitness we should be in pretty good shape.

The squad vs West Brom on the 12th August 2025: Josh Vickers, Richard O'Donnell; Jake Rooney, Craig Forsyth, Dion Sanderson, Danny Batth, Callum Elder, Isaac Gordon; Kenzo Goudmijn, David Ozoh, Ben Osborn, Ebou Adams, Bobby Clark, Liam Thompson, Owen Eames; Kayden Jackson, Andreas Weimann, Dejaune Brown & Liam Wheeldon.

Potential Squad for 13th September 2025: Jacob Widell Zetterstrom, Josh Vickers; Max Johnston, Ryan Nyambe, Dion Sanderson, Danny Batth, Matthew Clarke, Craig Forsyth, Owen Beck, Callum Elder; Lewis Travis, Ebou Adams, David Ozoh, Bobby Clark; Rhian Brewster, Andreas Weimann, Ben Brereton-Diaz, Lars-Jorgen Salvesen, Patrick Agyemang & Carlton Morris.

11 changes from the first meeting this season: Zetterstrom, Johnston, Nyambe, Clarke, Beck, Travis, Brewster, Brereton-Diaz, Salvesen, Agyemang & Morris.

It's set-up to be the strongest squad we have been able to put out since 2019 - so for that reason I'm excited for the game. Key players returning from injuries, others getting up to match fitness. I'm fairly sure it won't all click game one and we will look amazing from the off but we've genuinely not had a team sheet to look at with that level of quality since Lampard was manager and Mel was throwing his last bit of cash at it!

Game v one of our many ex managers!

4 points at home so far and hopefully make it 3 more but Blackburn seem to be a decent team maybe better than their results suggest as proven by a good win at Hull.

We normally beat Cov, Jordan Henderson was a scorer for them in their last victory in the fixture. That being said this is obviously a tough game and at home they should be favourites. I'd take a draw now.

    Kovacevic
    Stacey - Medic - Darling - Chrisene
    Topic - McLean
    Crnac - Kvistgaarden - Diallo
    Sargent
Main points of contention in the team will be right back as Fisher probably doesn't deserve to lose the shirt and midfield where Mattsson could come in. McLean was good in the last game so Mattsson will have had to have made a hell of an impression in training to start though.

Saturday will be fun. Live in front of the cameras, lunchtime KO. I'd be happy with a point and think we'll get it. 0-0.

  9. Oxford away for us, I don’t think we’ve got a good record against these, so will definitely take a point away from home. I think the last time I went it is was at the Manor ground for a cup game, not sure of the result but it was a memorable day for other reasons.
Of the other games Stoke v Brum and Cov v Norwich look the picks of the day. Although that said it’s the Sunday game that I’m looking forward too.

Are you referring to certain events before the game in the city centre?

    0-7 incoming..

  14. Probably and elsewhere, but the reason it was memorable was because two of the lads I used to go with decided to take their girlfriends with them, firstly because they wanted to to see Oxford and secondly because they had never been to a football match. The lads thought it would be a pleasant afternoon out, big mistake , the girls never went again and spent the virtually the whole time giving the lads earache.
I actually forgot the most memorable day against Oxford, which was the home game on the final day of the 1991/92 season when we beat you 1-0 and avoided relegation to division 3. I actually got in for nothing because someone opened the exit gates, then there was obviously a pitch invasion at the end.
Tbh a lot of away games were better then simply because so many ground still had open terracing for the away fans.

Oddly, some of ours became friendly with some of yours a few years after that.

Good mate of mine, a black lad named Jeff (sadly dead now) was friendly with some of your lot, and it spread to a few others becoming friends. I remember there was a fella from Coalville and another bloke whose name escapes me, but he had a weird Paul Weller type haircut.

Sort of half looking forward to it tomorrow. Which is an improvement at least  First one I’ve been able to make this season, to be honest I’m not unhappy about that given what has gone on.

Really looking forward to seeing some of the new talent. And, you know, Friday night under lights, catch up with the old faces and all that. Just praying we can get the 3 points, absolutely don’t care how. Having a shot at goal now and again may help. Come on you Blues

We've been struggling to get shots away too, so something has to give tonight.

Hard to say how we'll line up, we brought in plenty of defenders to try and stop the wave of counter attacks that we're being hit with, but the problem has been in central midfield so unless we have someone winning the ball back in there, we'll be exposed once again.

I'd be tempted to have Soumare and Matos in front of the back 4, give Burrows a bit more licence to push forward from left back and that would hopefully free up Barry, Hamer and O'Hare to create. If we don't get anything out of this, I have a feeling we'll be managerless...

Yes, feels like an important game for both of us given the starts we’ve had. Lots of change for us to deal with, in a way it’s a shame we haven’t had the extra day to prepare after the Internationals. For us I think the midfield is starting to look promising with Cajuste and Matusiwa but we keep giving away poor goals and lack the patterns of play going forwards. Who knows, could go either way I think.

Our record against Norwich is terrible and our next 3 games are tough. I really don't know where we stand at the moment. We've started well, scored bags of goals but it's hard to judge. QPR was a freak result, Derby was two poor quality teams going at each other and Oxford, we should have won the game in the first half but could have lost it in the second.

5 from the next 3 would be a good return. I'll go for a draw against Norwich.
