He was very good until around February then tailed off like most of the squad though tbf.He can be a bit slow at times but he gets stuck in and wins the ball and keeps it simple wouldn't mind him staying here myself.
He's fine. Does the dirty stuff well, breaks up play, gets around the pitch. Simple passing range but a good engine. I think if I was wanting a team that builds out, he would do an okay job at the base of the midfield - I would just worry about his passing range and ability to dictate tempos and build out. Much better off the ball than with it. Like I've said before, would like him to stay as he is clearly a good player but he is also very replaceable as well. Probably why you didn't notice him much. Might just very well suit your system more than ours which tends to avoid the midfield like a plague and go to back to front quickly, so perhaps his best traits or passing range are hidden behind our system that doesn't get the best out of him.
Sounds like the type of player we need, someone to do the dirty work so to speak. We were the lowest team in the league for tackles, interceptions etc according to this article below, and the person who made the most tackles was our left winger Dobra, which probably says a lot! Five Positions That Chesterfield Need To Strengthen This Summer
I'm face blind, but it doesn't look like him, unless he's had his dreads cut off, or they're not visible from that angle.
That doesn't look like adamarola. If Palace loan him out again, its likely to see him at the next level, potentially back with us.
Oluwo signs for Salford. Been great for us. Scored some big goals and quick. Not the best on the ball so do wonder if we were not so desperate to keep him.
Courtney Clarke was the man now confirmed athletic and quick apparently also likes a card I thought Labadie was back when I saw his disciplinary record
The rumours where Hawkes is headed seem to have mainly originated from the potential new employers rather than our end. Think Hawkes was one of our top scorers for one of the seasons under Mellon, so he may have good memories of working with MM. One ex-Rover who Oldham may be interested in is Kieron Morris, who MM brought to the club. Initially mainly a wide player, he’s been used in a central midfield role in what was an injury-hit season and did a decent job there. A little surprised he wasn’t offered a new deal with Rivers.
Knoyle , who was released by Stockport, said to be of interest to Grimsby. Don’t know if us paying up Cass and allowing him to go to Harrogate, means someone putting two and two together? We are probably in the market for a right back/ right sided centre back.
We haven't got a goalkeeper either, hopefully it's all done and dusted because we've released last seasons two. Just awaiting the right time to announce who it is I suppose, otherwise we are in the sh1t!
Couple of rumours coming out of rochdale that we are taking both jay bird and sam weller who they had on loan last year. They seem to rate them. What happened with kane drummond? Heard hes in trouble with the police but no details? Has he been released by chesterfield?
He was in court a few months ago for some assault charge from before we signed him, but I believe he was found not guilty? We released him this summer, nowhere near good enough for this level IMO. Was like a fish out of water upfront for us over the Christmas / New year period when we were decimated by injuries…
Notts have signed Huddersfield midfielder Tom Iorpenda on loan. Box to box midfielder apparently which is something we definitely needed with Abbott gone.
