Just interested to know your opinions on which one you'd rather have playing in goal. Lloris is probably the better keeper, and almost 15 years younger, yet Friedel was fantastic early part of the season, and up until last week he had played ever single premierleague game since 2004.

So who would you prefer in goal?

    Lloris.

It's inevitable that it's going to happen eventually, so why postpone the inevitable?

I understand Friedel is in relatively good form at the moment, and I thank him for his service in the short time he has been at the club, but I'd rather Lloris started playing now and adapted to the game than potentially reduce his confidence and make the 'Premier League' barrier even harder to overcome.

Friedal hasn't kept a clean sheet this season.

Now Fridel's impressive run of consecuive PL games has been ended it is inevitable that Lloris will take over at No.1 over the coming games.

It is a headache for AVB but I guess it is a good one to have.. 2 top quality keepers. Major qualm about it is that both Gomes and Cudicini are still on the books. Both will be on fairly large wages and the sooner they are out of WHL the better it seems.

honestly i think friedel is one of the best GKs in the world.

lloris is definitely regarded as one of the top 10 and friedel (deservedly) should be keeping him out of the side IMO. in the entirety of last season he made 1 mistake (taarbts goal) and 1 half mistake (swansea away). i'm sorry but keepers likes casillas, valdes, reina & hart makes loads more mistakes than friedel does. i dont watch enough of buffon & neuer but i wouldnt be suprised if they do either.

friedel is definitely the best keeper over the age of 40 that ive personally seen

You have to stick with the form keeper imo.

With that said Lloris has 2 clean sheets from 3 games. I think Friedel is the safe bet at the minute but AVB might put faith in Lloris and look further forward than the current season.

It's harsh but Brad has to make way for the new guy now. Brad has done nothing wrong but there is no room for sentiment, and the sooner Lloris is a permanent fixture in goal the better it will be for our defense and indeed the team as a whole. Lloris started the last two games for us so I would be extremely tempted to just leave him in now.

    Sorry, Hellboy. :-(

It's ridiculous to think Cudicini & Gomez are still there too. Why didn't Gomez go in the summer, I know he has a bit of reputation but surely PSV would have him back, or any other team in Holland after his displays there.

Gomes is probably sitting on something like 50k a week. I wouldn't give that up either. I think Cudicini is in his last year at the club and I would need surprised if he was offered another deal.

Lloris had a wicked double save as well, excellent game for France.
He did make a similiar mistake as he did for Spurs though, getting into trouble playing the ball out.

I suppose Lloris coming in is a bit of a **** you to Friedal after all he did last year, he still is a good keeper, did the preseason as well didn't he?

Shame Friedels career will end soon, as did his awesome consecutive games record, but all keepers have a use by date. Was great for the last decade, top 3 over that time for me. But it will be Lloris' turn if he can stop whineing to the press about his credentials and that it is unfair for a player of his quality to not be playing. I favour Friedel for this season, so Lloris can jump in next season after a gradual introduction to Prem football. Bit like De Gea and Lindegaard
