We threw the game today, feel sorry for those that travelled and paid to watch that shower of shit. United were in neutral, but you gotta love the commentators wanking over Tevez man of the match
He hit the bar, forced the best save of the match out of Alnwick and worked incredibly hard for the entire 90 minutes. Who was better, in your humble opinion?
Wellbeck, Carrick. I really can't understand how you can give the man of the match award to someone who spends his whole time chasing the ball, rarely touching it.
Welbeck? He was good, but not MotM good. Fabio was better than Welbeck for starters. Carrick is the only other realistic choice, so the amount of humour you found in it being awarded to one player in a 50/50 situation is quite perplexing. Still, simple things and all that.
I just don't rate Tevez, and really didn't think much of him today. We made it so easy for United today, you didn't even have to turn up, and when you did you got one classically lucky goal and two moments of class from Carrick and Berbatov to win the game, all in the space of 3 minutes, then sat back and just let us piss the game away ourselves.
Yeah we cocked the game up from the set piece, that was'nt good but do think a draw would've have been a fair result. I still think going out was a good thing for us, and i mean that, we can just get on with our league games now without worrying about other fixture's.
I'm just angry it took us until the last minute of normal time to put any real pressure on United. But let's face it, when we conceed a goal like we did from Scholes, you know it's not going to be your day. Once again we've taken the lead at Old Trafford and then capitulated
I just dont see alot of our players working hard enough tbh not enough running around creating space, just very basic passing, slow tempo football allowing United too much time to organise their defence, and like you say...not enough players further up towards the end (last 15-20 mins) and generally putting the pressure on them.
I knew we'd lose (we didn't even ****ing try!). I'm not bothered in the slightest. We need to concentrate on staying up, because we're double shit at the moment.
earlier on 606 a spurs fan rang in to say how they were robbed and deserved a win which not just baffled me but also the host and as i would of asked mark chapman said "what game were you watching?" well i definitely thought that they were an improvement on the game against burnley but still didnt have any urgency when they were behind and never really attempted any long balls
Went out tonight or I'd have planned to go to this.. great away day. Fans were terrific. Missed the start of the game, it was then all United for the rest of the half and I remember very little of the second half. Had a few drinks.. seemed to skip from start of the second half till the last two minutes Can't say I'm bothered we're out. On a positive note yet another goal for Pav. Bring on Stoke
Just picking up on a few points I've seen here... Tevez was brilliant, everything I would want from a forward fighting for his place, we could use him here. Only Huddlestone or Dawson even came close for mom imo. We were 1 million times better than against Burnley in midweek. If/when Bale plays he should be on the left wing instead of left back, he is always a threat going forward. And lastly although we didnt get the result tonight we have enough ability to get us out of the shite we are in in the league at the moment. Just my 2 cents.
What about Corluka and Gunter? i thought they had fairly decent games aswell tbh. Dawson could've blocked that second goal if he had tried hard enough, and remember the other goal came off Huddlestone from scholes shot, but still agree Huddlestone played quite well.
No need imo to pick the bones of this one, at the end of the day we are better off out of the Cup, think old Harry told them to take it easy but stone me they were nearly asleep at the end Anyway lads Stoke next up , upwards and onwards comrades
FERGIE RAPS BOO BOYS Sir Alex Ferguson slammed Spurs fans for booing Dimitar Berbatov and claimed United are the only club not to slate their former players. Berbatov, who joined from Spurs for £30.75million last summer, was booed and jeered by the travelling fans whenever he touched the ball at Old Trafford. The Bulgarian striker had the last laugh on his detractors, scoring the winner that sent his old club out of the FA Cup, but Fergie criticised Spurs fans for turning on their former striker. "Berbatov was booed, but that's the nature of our life now, it's a social disease really," said Fergie. "I think we're the only club that doesn't barrack players who have left us. Instead we give them a rousing reception.
