I suppose it's finding someone that will allign with the model isn't it who's suitable i can't imagine any old school manager will go there or you would want them tbh - I thought that Williams might just go back but is that not likely now?
I have absolutely no idea regarding Williams or anyone. Almost certainly not going to be an old school manager, more new school head coach which I'm happier with.
Despite my head saying no chance, the dumb supporter brain in me is still hoping for Brian Priske. He's gone nowhere else, is Danish like the owners and has won a title with our chief exec as his boss. Plus he's been down the Lane. I mean, c'mon, what else do you need ? You can stick you Glasgow Rangers and Feyenoords up your arse, he must want to kiss the Notts badge and be excited by our potential and the long term project and to embrace the glamour of L2.
I think Williams would have signed by now if it was going to be him, do you think? It would be an easy deal to do you'd think. If he's sat there waiting to see if anyone else offers him something first, then personally, I wouldn't want him.
You’d imagine so, I’m still hoping he’s been on holiday or something and that’s why he hasn’t been announced yet. He was joint favourite for the Bristol City job for a bit but that ship appears to have sailed so who knows.
I think the holiday idea is at least as likely as the work permit. It could be just about anyone, apart from the guy, Hinshelwood, I have money on. Barton is indeed now available at 20/1.
Disappointing lack of ambition from Brian Priske, who joins a historically successful Czech club to compete in European competition, instead of having a real go at the paint pot trophy with Notts.
I think we could well be waiting on whether our new head coach gets a better offer elsewhere I don't worry too much about the timeline as training hasn't even started yet. Could well be that key people are on holiday etc
I think that’s the most probable conclusion, if it was one of the ‘cheap nobodies’ people are pre-emptively getting wound up about then whoever it was would have skipped to Meadow Lane and been announced by now. If it’s someone like Evatt or Buckingham and we’re letting the Plymouth and Cardiff jobs play out then I’ve got no problem with that strategy.
No manager, but we have appointed a new director of stopping everyone getting injured so much. I assume he’s currently inspecting Scott Robertson like he’s one of those specimen heads in a jar.
Funny club because behind the scenes they’ve clearly gone to great lengths to restructure and evolve the club but the majority of fans just want an angry old man who will unilaterally sign loads of players and shout a lot
The ‘restructuring of the football department’ line is interesting because I’m not sure what’s left to restructure…
Got a promotion from his current job as Director of Human Performance, Mr & Mrs Magpie are going to get ripped. Yeah that is a bit of a head scratcher. Head Coach to Manager is the obvious one. Some kind of multi club ownership job with recruitment/performance teams across all of them?
I suspect it just means they’re decentralising things, under Montague it was basically him and a head coach doing everything which was fine in the National League. More positions like this guy - one for recruitment probably, one for development etc.
Can't be many roles Joao Alves he hasn't had left. It makes sense to tweak things I suppose. We weren't a million miles off last season but we did fall short so improvements need to be made.
So that’s a Director of Performance and a new state of the art training complex and people are still in the comments absolutely livid we haven’t announced a manager. special breed football fans
