First was a superb free kick to be fair. Second we switched off, unforgivable. Been exceedingly great otherwise, we’ve nullified York very well and been dangerous ourselves.
Great half from us, could have had five or six. Their consolation was a belter from distance having been left too much space.
0-0 at Tamworth, we were the better team by neither created much in truth. We lost two captains during the game, one to injury and one to a red card.
Sounds like we did pretty well tonight but our old enemy scoring goals and taking chances reared it's head again If Waters gets recalled we are screwed.
We've suddenly gone from looking impregnable at the back to looking very shaky at times, it showed when you had a go again at 2-2, we were there for the taking at times. Weird one that, we didn't play well at all, but it still feels a bit disappointing not to have won.. However we scrapped our way out of a Devonshiring, and have won 4 points from two tricky aways, so a good week's work. Thought Barratt was a constant threat for Maidenhead.
That was an extremely good game of football. Barnet are best team we have played this season, especially first half but Brennan is an absolute bellend. Hinslewood swooped things round at half time and we looked a better team and Brennan took a pacy winger and replaced him with a donkey with a long throw. Dipo getting injured will come back to haunt us especially with John Lewis out for 2 months. Thanks to Barnet because if they didn’t sell Armstrong to us we would be in conference North.
Think that's a fair summary, you didn't capitalise when on top, Callum Howe absolutely bullied Kabamba, your defence isn't very good, Kanu was very lively but Hartigan runs at walking pace
You just knew it was going to happen, we don’t deserve to win it so no complaints from me. Eastleigh have one of the best squads in the league, budget must be bigger than most but they’re not very good just individual quality bailing them out. We’ve lost 8 points late in games now, getting boring.
Came from a goal down to beat Worthing, 2-1. Wotton changed formation at HT and brought on Mussa who scored a cracker and assisted the second, first game where he has shown some actual promise! 3701 there tonight too. ****ing fantastic effort
Thought you had some good passages, especially going forwards, but it broke down for you due to a wayward pass a bit too often and a bit more than we did same. You do look like someone ought to be able to geta tune out of that set of players though.
Personally had enough of Kanu. Absolutely zero end product. Thought it was a good game. That third goal kills us and is inexcusable. We had five defenders a keeper and a midfielder as our bench yesterday.
Certainly Barratts best pdrformance for a long while. Only playing because our usual winger is injured.
Only got the highlights and reports from others to go off last night. Sounds like we rode our luck a bit first half but got the all important first goal. Not at our best / being tested by decent opposition but came out on top. All you can ask for really. Another tough game on Sat v Barnet awaits. Though I said at the start of this month if we get through to R1 of FA Cup and are still in a play off position by Nov I'll be happy. Job done. Side note. Who sanctions Halifax's kit choices? Last year their grey away kit clashed with our home kit and that was a pain to watch. This year their 3 kits are a choice of dark blue, darker blue & black. So we and I guess any other team in Blue are playing in the away strip at home Vs Halifax. I thought the point of a change strip was to contrast the opposition?
Yep - can't remember the last time he actually did anything meaningful, thought Glover has gone backwards somewhat too but still looked a threat. Potential champions do not collapse 2 games in a row after conceding & unfortunately we have 8 centre backs & barring Tavares who is always injured they all seem likely to make a match losing mistake. York commentators had it bang on, even when we were dominating we didn't actually create many golden chances & top teams really have our number. Our record vs top 7 teams in the last 12 months is shocking, so whilst sounding like a knee jerk reaction it doesn't feel we have enough for top spot & the play-offs only ever end 1 way let alone with our current records vs top teams. Congrats on the win York & 6000 on a Tuesday night impressive. Very frustrating this one for many reasons lol!
Always seems to be a good game when we play Alty, think there'll be some goals in it now we are free from Sarll's Shackles. Not that Lennie is Pep Guardiola but I think they'll play with a bit more freedom tonight. No idea on the score but would be happy enough with a draw.
York fans - why on Earth does Akinyemi start on the wing for you, isn't he an out and out striker?! Is it a case of wanting to play one up front (Pearce of course being hand selected by Hinshelwood) so he gets shifted out wide to still keep a player of his quality on the pitch? I felt a bit of a turning point was him shifting sides when Sinclair came on, and then him eventually going off injured. Glover had Akinyemi comfortably dealt with on that wing, but when Sinclair came on it stretched up a lot more, freeing up room for the runs of John, Armstrong etc.
Sounds like we were a touch unlucky to not leave with at least a point. Only the second away game we’ve lost this season out of 8 and that includes a lot of the teams near the top of the table so can’t complain too much. I reckon both teams will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.
3 draws and a Pools win in the 4 times we've played and not a single clean sheet for either. I'd be happy with a point tonight also, but if we start the game with three holding midfielders again I'm gonna be very upset.
