Don't be daft, they will make it up as they go along and so this won't set a precedent, they'll just arbitrarily decide everything on a case by case basis like all English governing bodies.

They've decided this is the soft option and gone for it, if fans try getting games abandoned at 0-0 or 1-1 or whatever scoreline suits their needs then they will no doubt apply the more logical 3-0 win to the opposition ands hit heavily on the club whose fans offended.

I mean it would be way too sensible to have guidelines on what punishment is "standard" for what offence, it isn't exactly difficult to work out the various scenarios on say pitch invasions halting games, failing or failing to attend a drugs test, fielding an ineligible or illegible player, failing to fulfil a fixture (where clubs have claimed sickness means they can't muster a team), failing to meet financial requirements, failing to meet ground standards etc.

Doesn't mean they absolutely have to stick 100% to them, but at least then you know what the punishment is and the FA/Football League have to justify any punishment that is heavier or lighter than the guidelines. So in this instance the punishment would be awarding the 3-0 win, if they decided then to "record it as 0-0" they'd have to justify it eg if it made no difference to promotion, relegation or even final league placings.

I think the weakest one is arguably either ineligible players or bans on players for drugs offences or other bans (biting, violent conduct etc) There's a stupidly named film "a million ways to die in the west", like there are a million unless you count fell to death from 100 feet, fell to death from 99.99999 feet, fell to death from 99.99998 feet, fell to death from...................... (well I hope you get the point) So in football terms how many variations on, say, not registering a player (in time), him being cup tied so shouldn't have played etc are there?

A point each seems a fair decision to me!:whistle

NOTHING rested on the outcome of the match so why the fuss? I don't believe a precedent has been set by this either. Surely every case that goes before the FL is judged on its own merits, so to claim that fans in the future could try to have games abandoned if a draw is enough to secure promotion or prevent relegation lacks any real logic. Basically, the FL can do what it likes and we all know that. For example, personally, I think Leeds Utd have been treated terribly by some decisions handed out by the FL, usually involving finance, or perhaps more importantly, who owns the club and whether that individual is fit and proper, while owners at other clubs with dubious reputations are seemingly left alone. In other words it's a lottery.

So come on everybody no one was physically hurt, Blackpool were down and out anyway however, I do think Town fans who travelled in decent numbers deserve a refund where possible.:hmmm

Exactly, this was the correct decision. It was made clear that had anything rested on this game, it would probably have been replayed. It was not going to be replayed, and there isn't any justification for awarding a win to either team, so call it 0-0 and get it done with.

Games that get called off for bad weather before 70 mins, they get replayed don't they? But If it's over 70 mins then whatever the result at the time is what goes? Remember when we played Wigan in 06/07 the game got called off due to how much water was on the pitch, was 1-1 when that happened and it offically went down as 1-1 although I can't remember how many mins had been played. What If the Blackpool fans had decided to go on the pitch at the end of the first half rather than the start of the second half? Would that of changed anything?

I can understand it being irrelevant to a degree, but had Huddersfield won, they would have finished above Leeds. In the Premiership I know that there's about £1 million per place so it's quite a large chunk of money. Even if it was something like £100k, that's still fairly relevant to a company, so it's not really that unimportant.
