Never mind Gateshead- WE would have something to say- since the NL made us play at buxton due to groundgrading + primacy of fixtures. 1 rule for one, 1 rule for another? As stated previously i have sympathy with SAfc's situation but that would be taking the p!ss if they do this...

Southport have appointment Neil Danns as manager, and Mark Duffy has come home to be his assistant. Given all the decent proven managers are taken, and considering some of the other names we were linked with (Franny Jeffers, Ryan Taylor, and Jamie Milligan) this is probably about as good as we could hope for.

Macclesfield have bought Buckley-ricketts from Curzon last week, big money signing for them.

Strange thing is or sad thing I suppose Curzon won’t miss him, and yet can be such a talented player on his day best player in the league……sadly for Curzon his ‘on his day’ was at best six games this season and towards end he became a bench warmer.

not sure why the logic seemed right last summer, fast skilful player, can score goals from midfield, played in a good position for him…….just didn’t work. Feel sad as I do t think we ever seen the best of him

if they can get him back to his Warrington for. They have a good player if he plays like he has second half of season at Curzon he won’t get in team

I GUESS you've all heard/seen the betrayal by the FA which has kicked us to the NE Cts league, instead of NPL top flight next season. Seems to be no justification for it - just some sort of spite. You think they'd be grateful we fulfilled fixtures all thru 2024-5. As it turns out we may as well have shut down/saved our money during 2025 and left the league in a mess. Absolutely tamping about it all, even now.

First signing for us and it's probably one we all guessed.

Pierce Bird who was at Fylde and then Eastbourne has signed.

A replacement for Caleb Richards after it was announced he was leaving yesterday

Another signing Jack Clarke from Eastbourne. Another one to follow Murray.

Eastbourne fans seem gutted he chose to leave so that's always a positive.

All our players offered terms have re-signed, bar Pete Jameson, who we are still waiting on. Likely has other offers. Have also added forward Tom Allen from Gateshead.

Curzon manager Mahon left today to go to afc fylde as manager

I got the wrath of the Curzon fans and kept clear of them last month when I suggested after last game he should have been sacked for failing even a top 7 with the side we had and because of the atrocious home football we played, that was shot down down but by a twist of fate we can now see if another guy takes Curzon forwards or backwards.

he’s a decent manager but I don’t know if he’s what they need when going for the title too unable to sort the attack side or it.

my only worry now if we re appoint Lakeland who was even more boring negative and awful to watch on a weekly basis……at least Mahon tried to get entertaining players they just didn’t work here, Lakeland it’s easier to buy some tins of paint and watch them dry out on centre of the pitch

I was thinking that Curzons season was not a success, top of the league by a few points with games in hand in January and finished outside the playoffs

They never sorted the home form, his idea on paper looked ok, sign 2 fast tricky wide men who can score goals keep rest same and the extra goals will push us over the line.

but it never worked, my main reason asking for a change of manager was for a team 8th and among title challenger for a while it was some of the most boring stuff every home game, 25 home goals total I think it was.

he will HAVE to change that at Fylde they won’t put up with that.

I expect Curzon will go for Lakeland……*groan*

It’s impossible for him to do worse than Phillips did. I know absolutely nothing about Mahon but I’m glad we’ve appointed a manager that obviously knows the league. We won’t be anywhere the title. I would snap your hand off for the playoffs. We barely have any players. It is a complete rebuild. We’ve got so many things wrong last couple of years

The main problem you have is your owners ego,.. but without his money,.. where would you have got to date?

Interestingly, just been told by a reliable source of mine that Mahon was one of the lead candidates to get our job (Halifax)

The way you describe Mahon, and his home form/lack of goals and entertainment sounds awfully similar to Millington who got pelters for his style of play.

Lakeland is another name I’ve seen touted about, coincidentally. Not had this confirmed or denied either way to date though.

Considering a lot of the background issues Halifax have for this season Lakeland would not be a bad choice, his style is very much keep a clean sheet and counter which can drive you potty but if you were needing as such a stable hand to ride you through some rough waters he would keep you afloat and not collapse.

Mahon also isn’t a bad manager, neither is both make you superb away sides, Curzon have had the second best away form in division for 3-4 seasons now in a row (usually only bettered by title winner) but since Carlisle is officially my main club and Curzon is my ‘watch as now my local’ club and I have no long term history bond to them I sortve go to be at least entertained and to watch a club score just 25 home goals last season, 4th worst in division, and take into account 16 of them goals I think came in just 5 games it meant an almighty 9 goals from 18 other games………went each time and was bored.

nit bad managers but when you just turn up to hopefully see a good match it isn’t happening with them two.

Mahon the manager is a bit surreal to witness, he spent a huge part of his playing career with us, a free going winger on the pitch and very mild mannered off it, some might say too much so. Since he left he seems to have had a total personality transplant.
