I would also add Mike Flanagan's Midnight mass & Fall of the House of Usher. There's also Dark, Sacred Games (only Season 1 cause season 2 is underwhelming), Queen's Gambit, Baby Reindeer, Mindhunters, Boy Swallows Universe, adult animated series & a ton of documentaries.
Tried squid games, never grabbed me....didn't like stranger things either, narcos doesnt interest me at all. thanks though. All i seem to watch on netflix are documentaries, which i like but i would like something else to watch, preferably a drama. Think I might have glanced at dark, i'll try again. Sacred games doesnt interest me. Didnt like baby reindeer, the rest of your recommendations aren't really my thang either. thanks though.
If you can get over the fact it's animated Monster is one of the best things on Netflix. Monster (TV Series 2004–2005) ⭐ 8.7 | Animation, Crime, Drama
Adolescence. 4 episodes. Just watched the 1st and was brilliant, am sure the rest are just as good. A young lad is arrested for a murder and each episode is filmed in one take. Stars Stephen Graham who is a bloody good actor.
Turning Point. The Vietnam War. 5 part series about the war with interviews from the soldiers on both sides to the ordinary villagers who were caught in the middle. Have had a fascination ( wrong word to use ) with Vietnam war for a long time. Gets glorified in films like Platoon etc but nothing comes good from hundreds of thousands losing their lives from decisions made by politicians who will never pick up a gun and go into battle.
I've been to Vietnam, travelled from Hanoi in the north right down to HCM in the south, using public transport the whole way. Beautiful country, fantastically friendly people who call it The American War and unlike some SE Asian countries you're made to feel very welcome without feeling like they just want your money. If you ever get the chance to go there do not miss out on going down the tunnels near Ho Chi Minh (the locals still call it Saigon), it's incredible what they achieved, truly amazing..
Brilliant mention about the Mai Lai massacre which have read about many times. Typically it was brushed under the carpet with a cover up by officials
I honestly hadn’t a clue what fragging was, and to hear those veterans so proudly say they were a part of it was shocking.
I tried my hardest to stick with Dark but just couldn't so gave it up about half way through series 2. Thought it was good but just too much to try and work out and very confusing at times. Is anyone watching series 5 of You? Been better than i thought to be honest as wasn't sure where they were going to take it. On to ep. 7 and all that has been happening in the previous episodes is clear now. Might watch another episode later. Some might think it's a big statement but Charlotte Ritchie is the most underrated British actress in the history of British... erm... actressing!
Not the Monster I want from del Toro. Yes I'm still salty he or HBO abandoned the adaptation of Naoki Urasawa's Monster.
Department Q Netflix should put this absolute sensational series in bubble wrap and use f*cking oven gloves to remove from storage if they champion a second series ,because this is white hot to the touch. Absolutely riveting from start to finish and plays out like a classic detective series should do. I really thought Netflix had shot their bolt with the brilliance of Adolescence ,but this is just wonderful and the acting is first class from all quarters. I've just watched 9 episodes over three days ,not exactly binge watching I know ,but based on the quality and quantity of the first three episodes ,three a night was enough. Easily the best and most engrossing show I've watched since Broadchurch and a simply must see. I've only seen Mathew Goode as a Vampire ,but he's magnificent in this and he's ably backed up by some stellar performances.
Mercy for None. Makes Oldboy look like the f*cking Karate Kid ,I'm up to episode 5 and I need a break just to catch my breath the action and fight scenes are f*cking relentless. 10/10 so far and a simply unmissable feast for those who like their Martial arts @Jonny Ninja. Get on it ,trust me you will thank me for the heads up
