According to Llambias Newcastle are set to break even financially later this year.

Seen this yesterday. If we break even and continue decent start to the season the sales of players could of be very shrewd moves by Cashley.

I read somewhere the financial forecasts DON'T include the £35 million fee of Carroll. So perhaps the finances are in better shape than anyone imagined.

This is all wonderful stuff while sitting in fourth place in the league of course.

Yeah I read that it didn't include Carrolls fees either.

As much as we hate him, he seems to be taking the club in the right direction. Of course, all this is probably just to make us more attractive to potential buyers, but still, it's great too see after recent years.

If the fat controller leaves the club in a better position financially then my hats off to him, I think he forgets how fickle some toon fans can be though if results start going against the team the tide will soon turn to "Wheres the Carroll money gone fatboy?".

From a footballing standpoint Alan Pardew, John Carver, our staff and scouting bods are doing a brilliant job.

From a business standpoint Ashley bought a big cashpoint machine. Yes it was overdrawn and at its credit limit thanks to of Freddie Shepherd. But Ashley's made transfer profits every transfer window since Keegan was here whilst selling off club-owned activities to help get some quick return on his investment. I think he's made profits even during the year of his self inflicted relegation. Can't be sure with the accounts not public.

And In January all our players will open in the shop window to bids, with Ashley's helecopter there to help any high bid sales, with Alan Pardew left to tell the supporters how player investment will be embraced in the Summer.

I just don't believe any soundbites that come from the faceless statement writer who treats the fans will little respect, as singing sections are split up and the ground turned into a huge Sports Direct advertising board for every TV angle.

Hail our great start, team spirit looks wonderful, but presently, to many ordinary supporters the trust just isn't there. Maybe Llambias isn't helping the job.

Massive credit to Alan Pardew and his coaching staff. Completely changed my opinion on him. However, being a Newcastle fan I know not to get my hopes up.

I don't think Ashley will ever be popular with most Newcastle fans for the reasons you state above. Removing Newcastle United from the stands and putting Sports direct.com instead was an absolute disgrace.
