    A mad stat if true:

    Newcastle 5-0 Crystal Palace

Incredibly, Crystal Palace still have a higher xG than Newcastle.

    Newcastle 1.28 - 1.71 Crystal Palace.

Maybe a penalty is a high scoring tariff ?

Just further proves my point that xG is just a load of utter rubbish and should be banned from being used as a stat

That xG shite is for nonces. It’s about putting the ball in the net. Newcastle have done it five times we’ve done it zero times. We haven’t been good enough simple as.

    Totally agree.

Unfortunately stats have taken over football .

    Particularly possession based ones .

It’s a bad time to start getting hammered when you’ve got a big game at Wembley on the horizon.

As I always say, it gives people who know nothing about football a chance to sound like they know something about football. Twitter is rife with stattos who throw xG around as though it earns clubs points

    It's genius from Glasner.

Dracula's at home now with absolutely no idea how we're going to play.

Banana skin? What banana skin!! We might actually get 2nd place if we keep winning like we have recently. Focus now on beating the Villa scum at the weekend.

Apparently Newcastle played Glad All Over at full-time. You can't buy class

I just don't rate Eze. In moments he is world class but his general all round game is infuriating. He loses possession 9 times out of 10. The amount of times we narrowly escape conceding a goal due to him being caught in possession is mind blowing.

I love Eze but he's just such an inconsistent player, which is why he'll probably never get that big move. He'll have spells where he looks unplayable and almost single-handedly wins us games (e.g. Fulham quarter-final) but then he'll have matches like last night where he can't do anything right and is actually a bit of a liability.

It's similar to Zaha really. Brilliant player to watch when he's on it but never going to be consistent enough to go to that next level.

Not when he stood still throwing his arms in the air.

He was a hard-worker overall though, agreed.
