I didn't think that stat could be correct, as James Milner in mt head has played far more than anyone. But Barry played 30+ games every season from 98/99 to 17/18, bar 2, where he played at least 20. That's mental.

Konate is a good player but he's definitely not worth the mega contract he supposedly wants. He also has van Dijk privilege. Literally any centre back looks great with him. Would prefer to keep him but it's not the huge loss someone like Trent is or Salah and van Dijk would have been.

Liverpool advancing in talks to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen - increasing confidence from Dutch int’l camp deal will be struck. 24yo #Bayer04 right-back keen on move so personal terms no issue. ~€35m clause appeals to #LFC @TheAthleticFC

Probably announced when the Bundesliga season finishes.

it's on beeb as article and generally they don't put rumours as a solitary article, well unless eg TAA hasn't signed a contract so speculation within a general article on status

Dean Huijsen: Real Madrid agree £50m deal to sign Bournemouth defender - BBC Sport

he was bound to move sooner or later, Bournemouth have done really well but clinging on to top players is always tough outside of the very top clubs/CL teams

maybe with the money you can get another, plus a midfielder and striker (based on £11m fees give or take, but not suggesting £50m/11....)

I like him, but some players especially at big clubs winning sh t are going to want big contracts as they know they can leave on frees at end of contract and clubs are bound to be interested if talk a la TAA et co are abound

I suppose the question is how much would it cost to sign a replacement as good and what wages vs Konate wage demands, he is nearing 26 so a younger equivalent if there is one available would be best route if not stick with Konate

    We paid 36? for konate?

The club did well but the club can do better. He's a big lad, he's a strong lad but he is also awkward and picks up injuries that knock him back a lot and honestly he isn't half the player I think he thinks he is at this point.

Newcastle laid the same for botman but got unlucky with injuries upon injuries.

Van den ven went to spurs for 43 and it's the same story. Good player loads of injuries.

Lfc can replace konate if we have to. In fact if real want to pay 70 or 80 today (or psg) I'd drive him to the airport.

If he went on a free but played to win cups next season I would shrug, it's not enough to panic over.

The last time I seen someone use this phrase was Zippy when we signed Gravenberch it made me think he was gonna be a bit of a dud and now he must be worth 3/4 times more than what we paid for him. Konate is in prime and a fantastic CB maybe I rate him higher than others in which case fair enough but I still think it'd be a killer losing two of our first choice back four in one window but if we are gonna lose him got to get a fee club can't let another big name got for less than the price of a mars bar.

Yeah i guess you are right but it does seem rather a lot for thr big man to me.

As I said if he stays and wins cups then wanders off on a free then OK, it's not like the club have lost hugely based on his original fee and the return.

There's quality out there to replace anyone. The club just has to find the right ones. That's the secret to success and failure.

Ideally a contract is signed but the club can't ignore the situation as it stands

22 year old left back at Botafogo, which feels a bit too old to be someone we'd loan out. Only really makes sense as a signing if we primarily see kadioglu as a RB (which is entirely possible) or if estupinan is off

I am not really that dismissive of Konate. It's difficult to get a good CB, & Konate is more than good.
I don't think he deserves a salary close to Van Dijk & Salah which apparently he is demanding. Hopefully the club finds a middle ground.

More importantly Quansah needs to have a good season in the next. Thought he was unlucky at times & low on confidence.

Wirtz would be a big statement signing and is the best 10 available so I'd love him. But Cherki for £22.5m would be the bargain of the window IMO, and we have been linked to him a lot. Take him over Simons all day every day.
How much do you think he wants? I saw 200k, I'd give him that. Who could we even sign who is as good? Then there's the cost of the transfer for a new player.
Who can we sign who is better than Konate? He's a 100k a week player? You're absolutely living in a fantasy. Konate is a top CB and it's imperative we get him signed up.

He just isn't a 70m player, at the moment. That's more than Solanke went for. Though we shouldn't just sell half the starting 11, so I guess the asking prices have to start including a premium as more get linked away.

    70m is ridiculous

I would say half of that is more accurate. But it’s United, you’re welcome to pull their pants down

Any player worth his salt wouldn't touch United with a bargepole right now, so not only is that fee ridiculous, but he'd have to have questionable ambition and want stupid wages too.

I was curious, according to a search it suggests in the region of £70k a week, be no surprise he wants a pay rise for sure

according to another source there are 2 on over £350k (no prizes for guessing which two, contract signings and all), 10 on between £120k (Szoboszlai and Gakpo) and £180k (TAA so next is Robertson on £160k when TAA leaves)

Given relatively speaking Konate and Diaz aren't on much should consider how much has been saved to this point in wages, and of course how many players better than eg Nunez, Jota, and Konate would, transfer fee and wages considered, be a big upgrade - not that I'm suggesting only buy players on lower end wages, but by the time you've paid fee and wages is the player so much better than what they are "upgrading" ?!?

Kelleher reputed on a mere £10k a week, and Bradley, Jones £15k and Phillips, likely to leave with less first team appearances than all of those, £20k!! (Bradley 55 apps, Jones 44 apps this season alone, Kelleher 67 apps vs Phillips 29. All things considered though I think there are few LFC fans out there wouldn't play for LFC for £10k a week! (hardly peanuts)

would have to trust if a club like BHA is buying a kid for that it's like £10m up front and the rest in clauses, especially bearing in mind no Champions League football (reputedly worth £100m to the winner of the Europa League final according to recent articles/sources)

they may need to tread carefully with signings. briefly read about prospects of chelski paying £20m to keep Sancho or £5m to send him back (?!?) but either way with a big transfer fee generally comes big wages, and of Rashford £40m price tag which also said his £350k (?) a week wages were not up for reduction, person speaking on his behalf as I recall

Sancho I'd say take him at £20m, surely has resale value aplenty left, not that long turned 25 and could get service and resale from him, even if to eg saudi.

I'm sure plenty would like Rashford, but maybe not so much (many times) plus wages
