The **** could be 90 and he’d still score against us. Despite all the good Parky did for us, the image that still sticks in my mind is when he grabbed him and nearly throttled him, great image.
I think wage will be key with that one, otherwise you've got a pretty expensive cheerleader. He still looked OK but age catching up with him.
Our has finally come out today: Leyton Orient - Leyton Orient First-team players under contract: Tom James, Dan Happe, Brandon Cooper, Jordan Brown, Lewis Warrington, Sonny Perkins, Ollie O'Neill, Ethan Galbraith*, Diallang Jaiyesimi, Sean Clare, Zech Obiero, Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Azeem Abdulai, Charlie Pegrum. First-team players in contract discussions with the club: Jack Simpson, Dan Agyei, Dom Ball, Omar Beckles, Noah Phillips, Makai Welch. Loan players to return to their parent clubs: Jack Currie, Jamie Donley, Charlie Kelman, Josh Keeley, Dilan Markanday. First-team players to leave the club following the expiration of their contracts: Jayden Sweeney, Randell Williams, Joe Pigott, Sam Howes, Darren Pratley, Rhys Byrne, Reon Smith-Kouassi, Thomas Avgoustidis. First-team players to continue rehabilitation with Leyton Orient: Jordan Graham, Theo Archibald *The club have exercised an option in Ethan Galbraith's contract. He is now contracted until the summer of 2026. - Been told his agreed to go to a Championship club and its all down now to negotiating a fee with said club. No real suprises. Jayden Sweeney I thought they might keep as cheap backup, but he's a bit out of his depth in League One, Randell Williams will sign for a bigger club and Darren Pratley has been offered a non playing job with the club. Been told that Beckles will sign his deal and that Dan Agyei is likely to leave as he is demanding more money. Both Jack Simpson and Dom Ball have their uses and are older heads you need a squad, but both are always picking up injuries - Simpson is nearly 29 and has only just passed 100 career appearances in all competitions. Both Jordan Graham & Theo Archibald have had such bad luck with long term injuries. Graham has had the same injury 2 seasons in a row and Archibald hasn't played since Feb 2024 and suffered a big set back last season, if both get fit they MIGHT stay.
Joe Piggott was a shadow of his former self on loan with us. If he wants to carry on playing, he's going to have to drop a level or two. Then again, money is unlikely to be an issue as his family are rumoured to be quite wealthy.
Wrong side of 30 and on the slow decline as he has little pace, I heard Southend and Colchester are interested in him.
Great news for us in Kyle John signing a new 2 year deal with an option of a third in the clubs favour. We triggered a year last month but wanted to tie him down, came from Everton having never even been on loan in the summer on trial and has been one of the best signings for us, outstanding talent.
Will Collar and Ibou Touray leaving the club. Collar been a superb player for us, joining us in the NL and completely evolving and developing as a player along the way. Touray not too fussed personally, steady enough but not a favourite. I imagine both have been offered more money/longer contracts elsewhere as we did offer deals. Collar could do a good job for a good number of League One clubs, there were signs that he's not particularly techincally proficient enough for the top end of League One but he still contributed heavily to our third place finish .Touray I'd suggest would be more League Two, although he did make a lot of appearances for us over his two years. Probably looks better on paper than he is in reality IMO.
Gutted to lose Collar, he'd still play a decent role for us so I'd guess he's got a longer deal elsewhere that County didn't match, same as Horsfall As for Ibby, he could do a job for anyone at this level that plays ordinary full-backs, it's only our system where they're asked to press high which didn't suit him.
I'd be very surprised if we went back in for Sam Hughes after his loan last season , he seemed to play 5 games & then miss 2/3 with niggles & you've lost some of your defence already though we need some experience in GK , CB , CM & Striker though knowing how tight MacAnthony is & no sell ons for older players we'll probably sign more unknowns .
I would love to see us signing Collar, and follow in the footsteps of Sarcevic, probably couldn't afford the wages he will be seeking though
Hughes looked pretty basic for us. I was surprised your owner was bigging him up so much. He does tend to exaggerate though. He's yours for a lowish price I reckon.
Hughes had a number of MOTM games for Posh & played a big role in their survival The move was a good thing for him personally, a number of off-field issues stopped him settling here & I'm sure he'd be happy to move to Peterborough full time
No doubt he has leadership qualities & brings experience but he wasn't in the squad on our best defensive performance of the season when beating Birmingham & he did an hour's interview on Posh podcast talking a lot about how important his family on the Wirral are to him especially his brother so he didn't give out a vibe of coming back again , but , I may be wrong , he'd have no sell on value , that's so not Posh .
He's leaving for more money and a longer contract so it might be "I'm not interested" in the sense of "I never had a chance anyway"
Yeah when we heard what they offered Crowley we left the room briskly, rightly so. few big signings incoming for Mansfield, I suspect imminently if the owners have flew in.
Cloughie is very, very persuasive when it comes to them opening up the chequebook. Every summer, every winter, it's more, more, more. Now it's time for Clough to do his bit and deliver. No more complaining.
