So far 3-0 win against Harrogate and 4-1 against Hannover 96. Neither of those teams are up to much so reading nothing in to it.
Won 5-3 at Doncaster with a full strength team. We made some mistakes but Donny’s keeper was poor, we were taking pot shots at him at one point. Finn Azaz again looks a bargain for what we paid and the centre half pairing was decent, not even our first choices.
Beat Schalke 2:0 yesterday. No Summerville, they say it's due to a tight hamstring, we'll see. We've looked fairly good from the 3 games we've played so far, seem to be a little more attacking and harder pressing.
Sigh! Wesley Hoedt started his first game after some transfer speculation at Wycombe . Great we think but now gone off injured with a serious looking knee injury . Losing 2-1 as well.
Beat Everton 3-0 last night. You could tell that they were behind us in their preseason but they are still a PL side. They didn't play well but I'm not taking that away from our performance. We were the superior team for the full 90 mins. Rudoni looks like a great pick up, always looking to make space for himself. EMC, Simms, MvE, Saka all had great games. I think our front four will cause a few problems this year.
Currently losing 3 - 0 to St Pauli.lol 3 (or 4, I missed 1) of our most recent goals conceded have been from failing to play out from the back correctly. Safe to say we are going to give you all a chance this season.
1-1 v Brentford Not a bad performance against a decent side but really do need some extra quality up front and in defence.
Lost 3-1 to Celta Vigo. Thought we did well up until Pelly Ruddock gifted them a goal with 5 minutes left. Another goal in the final minute made the scoreline 3-1 which flattered the Spanish side. Another injury to our defence, Mengi this time, means that we now have 5 defenders out, and we haven't replaced Osho. A worry with Burnley only 9 days away. We really need to make a couple of signings this week otherwise we are going to struggle in the opening games of the season as we did in the last third of the PpL season when we had players out. Positives? We look good in the last third and should have had a couple of more goals today. Baptiste also looks a decent signing.
Beat Valencia 2-1. Looks like we completely battered them on the balance of play, and an amazing goal from Rutter. Won all our pre-season games.
2-0 defeat at Reading finishing a terrible pre-season with a very weak squad now. New additions are taking ages and there's a general air of gloom.
Final pre season game yesterday v SC Heerenveen, 160 of them came up for the weekend and made plenty of noise. Boro won with a late penalty from our new ex huddersfield striker, decent game and the lad in my picture was on the pitch at half time.
