First attempt at a sig in about 2 and a half years down below. It was done with paint.net because I'm too lazy to find a working PS link.
Drew this the last few hours but thanks to my camera being away and having to use my phone, it's all f*cking orange. It's A2.
^to me that is awesome, i cant draw at all.. so i cant critique it- but to me it looks awesome. my two latest..
Thanks, took a picture now I have my camera back so it's clearer and also another that I've been working on, but I stopped because I think I have the angle wrong which pissed me off a bit (the downfall of working freehand). Really like your 2 sigs, especially the top one, just goes together really well, and the text fits in without being too obstructive.
looks great Mike, I'm a rubbish drawer myself I struggle drawing good stick figures bout 3/4 finished, just gotta duplicate the engine, connect them to the cockpit, then colour it all in.
I decided to start creating things for companies I make up to add to my portfolio and will try and get a few more done soon, here's my first one, a Suit Fitting company. I couldn't think of a decent name so left it as 'Suit Fitters', created a logo and a webpage. Opinions?
Looks smart mate, however I feel some sort of brief over view of the company or something to that affect would be good to see. Makes the business seem more approachable if you know something about them. I love the logo, I love the pin strip and the framed images are excellent, those are the links to the mens / womens shopping pages yes? Also take into consideration that a lot of online stores have a log in button, a cart and a search bar too. I know it's only a mock but that's just my opinion.
Thanks a lot for the response Jay. An overview would be a good thing to add, and something I hadn't thought about so thanks. The pictures would be links too, yes. Ill add a log in, cart and search bar to the page too. I think I should change the text on the side links too, so they stand out a bit more. Cheers
Yeah I agree, I would personally use the same font that you used for the links at the bottom of the page to tie it all together.
Looks like a legit webpage now, the font on the tape measure is much more legible and it looks smart how you've done the cart / search bar mate . Nice work.
Thanks for the feedback Jay Creating a logo and "What's On" booklet next for a theatre, decided to name it "String Theatre" and this is the logo I've made for it; EDIT: Done;
Creating a bicycle company logo and poster now called "Bodoni Cycles". This is my logo; EDIT: Both done;
I would really change the font of 'bodoni'. Nicely done though. Hey can I get the link to that Google Chrome template you used to show off the webpage design?
Does the Mac just skin every browser the same? As it looks exactly like Safari. .........looking at Google, it must do as screenshots for Chrome and Safari are identical. That's just weird.
Speaker's, try to get away from always wanting to put something literal in any design you do. i.e. Suits... tape measure and pin stripes, Cycles... chains and then a bike. You don't need gradients, drop shadow etc either. It's a sure fire way to cheapen any work you do unless it's extremely subtle. Watch the spacing & leading on the type, on the theatre image it's far too cramped especially for a serif typeface like you used. Keep cracking away... check out - http://www.creativereview.co.uk/cr-blog
It's Google Chrome on a Macbook, and it's just a screenshot SZ. Thanks for the link, I think I need to change the style I do things in too, I don't really seem to experiment with it text and image much, and it all ends up having a bit of a stock look to it. I'll drop the gradients and drop shadow for my next piece of work and see what I can come up with.
