9/10 Joachim Andersen - Lyon (£16m) Marc Guehi - Chelsea (£20m) Conor Gallagher - Chelsea (loan) Will Hughes - Watford (£6m) Michael Olise - Reading (£8m) Odsonne Edouard - Celtic (£14m) ...plus a few squad/youth players. Would've been 10/10 if we'd managed to bring in a LB to challenge Mitchell, but that's just being greedy. Was really worried we'd struggle with all the outgoings but the recruitment team have absolutely smashed it, bringing in the cream of the Championship and some experienced (yet still relatively young) players in key positions. Exciting times ahead, but they still need to do the business on the pitch. How do you rate yours?
8/10 Getting a dof who seems to know what he's doing and Levy realising that Romero should be class Gil looks like a real prospect Emerson at right back should also be a clear upgrade Didn't sell Kane Sarr stays at Metz for another season but could be a future star Only worry is lacking a bit of creativity in midfield, but hopefully Ndombele will be part of the plan again now we haven't found a club willing to meet the asking price. 9.5/10 - secured a host of top players to new deals, and signed the best young CB in world football....
7 - defo needed at least 2 more to freshen the squad up but not too arsed we're winning the lot regardless.
Can’t wait to see this turn into a discussion of United fans putting 6.5 for not signing a midfielder
7.3/10 Sancho - I seem to be alone in remaining unconvinced by Sancho, hopefully he'll prove my doubts to be mistaken, and he's only 21. Varane - I always worry about players with no Premier League experience but Christ if he doesn't work out there's no hope for anyone, he's an absolutely class act. Ronaldo - I'm an advocate of the 'never go back' adage in football, but I'll make an exception in his case, born winner. Only a 7.3/10 because yet another window has closed with the gaping hole that is United's midfield remaining unaddressed.
6.5 for me, we had a great start, Ajer and Onyeka look quality signings, but we only got them and Wissa as potential starting players, which feels too light to me. Seems the club tried to get another couple across the line but couldn’t get deals that were worth it. Trust the DoFs completely, but still a little nervous we didn’t strengthen enough. 1 or 2 more would have been great, RB looks a worry, and still no back up if Henry gets injured.
8/10. I think we have got in some promising strikers and a strong set of midfielders on paper but maybe needed more reinforcements in defence but guess money isn't tight. Let a lot of high earners go which is good. And Sarr is still here.
We held on to Kane and moved on some of the older and shitter members of the squad and replaced them with some exciting promising younger players. Overall the squad looks in much better shape so it was a pretty satisfying window for us.
4/10 It's a transfer window, not a contract extension window. The club deliberately did that, to divert the attention from lack of signings. I don't think we need big signings or multiple players. We are thin in some areas, which needed to be addressed. Instead we are repeating the CB approach of last year. In the centre we only have three quality midfielders. Injury to anyone of them and we are screwed. And up-top we are a Salah injury away from genuinely struggling. I hope I am proven wrong.
2/10 - signed a couple of players that look promising but the same glaring weaknesses in the squad reamin that have been there since our first season at this level, we have downgraded the keeper and actually somehow ended up making an already small squad even smaller. Shambles once again.
