No official retained list but our local reporter saying pretty much all our best players out of contract, and most of our weaker players under contract. Another big rebuild required…

Not really a proper retained list as per, but we’ve announced a few things between the club and our local reporter: Under Contract: Adam Alimi-Adetoro Charlie Hayes-Green (Youngster) Will Smith (injured till around Christmas) Sean Tarima Harvey Sutcliffe Tom Pugh Owen Bray Options Triggered: Florent Hoti Jamie Cooke Angelo Cappello Jack Jenkins Zak Emmerson Nat Ford In Negotiations: Sam Johnson Jo Cummings (injured long term) Ryan Galvin Festus Arthur Adam Senior Jack Evans Max Wright (injured long term) Josh Emmanuel Released: Adan George Jimiel Chikukwa (Youngster) Frankie Sinfield (Youngster) Ted Lavelle (Youngster) End of Loan: Dan Nkrumah (Released by Middlesbrough) Luca Thomas (Released by Leeds) Dubem Eze Lewis Leigh Scott High (Released by Huddersfield) Toby Savin Suspect we will offer deals for Nkrumah, Thomas and High. Only one I could see us getting is Nkrumah. Thomas and High will get better offers most likely. Galvin, Senior and Evans will all most likely be EFL bound. Emmanuel I don’t see staying as he initially only signed mid-season a short term deal till end of the season, due to having a young family down south. Would have personally released Cappello and Jenkins, but suspect it’s a case of the club not wanting to rebuild too much as we are going to lose several players as it is.
All depends if Millington stays, can see all our out of contract players going maybe Johnson stays. Can't rely on young players to keep us in the mix next season need some old heads.
I’ve no issues with predominantly going with a younger squad, but definitely need a few more experienced heads and some height/physicality adding to the team. We’ve hit our peak under the current model, need to adjust and adapt both on and off the pitch if we want to progress as a club.
Ours announced. Can see Kairo Mitchell rocking up at another NL club. Had a few purple patches for us but something lacking in his overall play for me. I always said he'd spoon easy tap ins and then score a worldie. He could have a run or a few games scoring then just look disinterested for weeks. Seemed like he fell out with management and squad as well so not surprised he's gone. Money on him scoring against us next season. Kyle Ferguson I would've offered a contract but reckon lack of game time made his decision to ask to leave. Can see him being a solid NL CB elsewhere. The others not fussed by leaving. Good basis of a squad to build on. But if MF bite and Jay Bird or similar added and I can see a very good season coming. Retained/Released List 2024/25 – Rochdale AFC

Adam Senior departs for a football league move. Wouldn’t be shocked if it’s L1, he’s good enough for it.
Agree with all those released, shame that BSD wanted to leave, would've liked to keep him, our papier mâché Prince is a rough one to take but he just can't get fit, gets injured training, most gifted player I've probably ever seen but the lad is shot to bits. Surprised we only offered Sheron a 1 year deal, he's moved his family up here so kind of hoping he'll sign on again, but I wouldn't begrudge anyone moving on the state we are as a club.
Just noticed your post don’t think any of our better players will stay Whoever is in charge next season they are going to have a tough job.
Evans will be the next departure, calling it now. Reckon a L2 side or a big hitter from this league will snap him up. I reckon Millington walks anyday now, he sounds totally fed up.
I’ve mixed opinions on him. Do I think he’s a good coach, absolutely. His track record of developing players during his 6 years here says that. However, as a manager, I’m not convinced. He’s very defensive minded, worried more about how we can limit the opposition, rather than impose ourselves. Zero plan B, particularly when we go behind or a team parks the bus against us. Our goal record backs that up. I do wonder if he was backed more off the field though, would he play with a more positive mindset? Hard to say, but he’s hit his peak with us under our current model.
I'd be over the moon. Like I said after the play off game. That level of attacking incapability has been all season. The defense finally gave way. Bloke doesn't know what a competent attack looks like after 3 seasons in charge
Think Halifax need to be careful what they wish for Millington has got them to the playoffs two years in a row with one of the smaller budgets in the league, they could easily be in a relegation battle with a poorer manager
There’s only so many rabbits out of the hat Millington can keep pulling. That’s not a dig at him, more the lack of backing in terms of retaining our better players, or signing more established players. Our current contracted players is uninspiring, and there’s only really Evans and possibly Johnson in the out of contract list I’d be bothered about keeping. With or without Millington, I think we will be bottom half or lower next season, barring drastic changes off the field.
