Scunthorpe United can confirm its retained list following the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign. Three players will be leaving the club when their contracts expire this summer. OFFERED NEW CONTRACT AND CURRENTLY NEGOTIATING... Ross Barrows, Alfie Beestin, Andrew Boyce, Michael Clunan, Ross Fitzsimons, Michael Kelly, Maxim Kouogun, Callum Roberts, Joe Starbuck, Danny Whitehall OPTION ACTIVATED... Max Brogan, Maison Campbell, Tyler Denton, Joe Rowley, Carlton Ubaezuonu LEAVING THE CLUB... Sam Fishburn, Jason Law, Fin Shrimpton LOAN PLAYERS RETURNED TO PARENT CLUBS... Mo Fadera, Oli Rose UNDER CONTRACT... Mark Beck, Will Evans, Kian Scales Will be very interesting to see which of the offered players accept. Roberts, Fitzsmons, Whitehall and Clunan are the ones we absolutely need to sign a new deal. Gutting that Mark Beck is still under contract, he was abhorrent in the NLN don't wanna see him play in the NL
Ours is out: Under contract Ryan Inniss Cian Harries Sean Long Jamie Robson Adam May Harvey Bunker Charlie McCann Liam Sercombe, Tom Knowles Kyle McAllister Christian Doidge Joe Quigley Harry Cardwell Keon Sanniola Will Merrett Jose Marquez The following players been offered a new contract Fiachra Pagel Jordan Moore-Taylor The following players will be released by the Club Jamie Searle Ben Tozer Teddy Jenks Emmanuel Osadebe Jordon Garrick Tyrese Omotoye Kept some key players; of those released would have been happy for Osadebe and Garrick to be given another year. Jenks will go on to do well, and hope Omotoye does too, never really got going with us.
Nothing against Scunthorpe, but wouldn't mind Danny Whitehall returning to Rochdale. He was a youth player with us, but sensibly decided to do a degree in the USA rather than go straight into senior football. His dad, Steve, did much the same before joining us and was excellent.
How has Mo done last season he was playing against my son for U19 team in York.could see him going out on loan for a full season. I actually watched you lot play at Rushall in Jan probably a bad game to reflect on but Ubaezuona stood out for being appalling. Thought Callum Roberts was a different level to everyone else on pitch.
When was the last time you even saw him play? He massively developed his game this season, he's a great hold up man and makes the entire team better. We would've won the league if he hadn't got injured
He's very talented and exciting to watch but very raw, still needs a lot of development. He's your classic lower league winger, really good at time but can go missing quite a bit. Can't see him starting for a top NL side, another loan to us would help him I think
Not sure if we'll keep all of them, pretty sure Doidge and McCann will be off. Agree on those released, Garrick and Osadebe are both players who could do a job in League 2 and Jenks has decent potential. Omotoye was a bit unlucky not to get more of a chance, don't actually think he'd have done a lot worse then Knowles or even Cardwell numbers wise if he'd got a run in the side.
Ours has just been posted: Under contract Joe Cook Agreed new terms Joel Colbran Sam Beard Aarran Racine Sam Packham Glen Rea Odei Martin Sorondo In negotiations with Jack Spong Tommy Willard Nicky Wheeler Mo Faal Temi Babalola Alfie Young Ollie Starkey Bailey Smith Taylor Seymour Leaving to pursue other opportunities Danny Cashman Out of contact and released Liam Nash Chris Haigh Lucas Covolan Ollie Black Jack Bates Finlay Chadwick Cam Tutt Buzziing that Odei is staying, a real warrior who will give you everything on the pitch. The rest of the lads on new deals look good, although I'm not sure if I fancy having Raccine as a starter in a promotion chasing side at this level, considering his age and his mimimal game time over the last 18 months. Was a bit torn on Packham but he's been a capable deputy so no complaints here. In regards to the ones in negoiations the fact that we're still speaking to Spong, so hope remains there. With the strikers I think there's a case to keep all 3, as they have shone at different points and all offer different things, even if they've been wasteful at other moments. With Wheeler it would be great to keep him on, however with the move to a hybrid model that might not be feasible, although I'm sure that it was alluded to on the podcast that attemps to work with players in his position work wise to make a viable schedule for training would be made so I guess it's a case of wait and see. Alfie young would be useful to keep on in some capacity and Ollie Starkey is one for the future but not really bothered about Smith, and with Seymour it depends on how his recovery's going I guess. Overall if all the ones in talks stay we've got a very strong core that only needs supplementing with a handful of additions, no need to tear up a squad that finished a point off the title.
Boreham Wood release David Agbontohoma, Josh Hare, Mo Sagaf, Tyrone Marsh, Kwesi Appiah Bold decision to release Appiah after 24 goals last season, although he is 34 and was dropped just before the playoffs
Sagaf was part of a group of players that thought they were better than they were due to the silly wages we paid at the time and all were quite disruptive, now most playing at lower levels.
I first noticed him at Braintree where he looked like one of the few decent players in a poor side. Wood aren't exactly a creative side so if they're letting him go, he can't have had a great season
York has released retained list and bizarrely non are in negotiations. Contracted keepers Harrison Male Rory Watson George Skyes kenworthy Defenders Malachi Fagan-Walcott Callum Howe Geoff king Ryan Falliwfield Darraugh O’Conner Cam John Joe Felix Tyler Cordner Midfield Alex Hunt Dan Batty Paddy McLaughlin Ollie Banks Ashley Nathaniel-George Tyrese Sinclair Mo Fadero Gravato Marvin Armstrong Luke Chadwick Ricky Aguair strikers Ollie Pearce Josh Stones Dipo Akinyemi players released Lennel John Lewis Adam Crookes Olly Dyson Max Kouhyar Alex Hernandez Zander Siziba Latty Faitweather Levi Andou Loan players returning Lewis Richardson Junior Luamba
Kouhyar looked quality for Kiddy on loan, surprised he’s been released thought he’d easy make the step up. Would love if we got him
He was a step above in nln for the brief time we had him whilst there and like you say, he's done well at kiddy too and I expect he'll end up there. Was decent in flashes at NL but nowhere near consistent enough and lacks the bit of pace to be a threat all the time
I like Maz big player in getting us out of North but a massive gulf between the leagues.would not get a game. He is a top end regional footballer but low end conference player.
