Heard he had a big fallout at Posh who want to move him on, don't expect us to buy him though.....

He has an attitude problem on & off the pitch & last straw for Posh was him being filmed at Notting Hill Carnival with people smoking drugs near him , he's always arguing with refs & if got subbed will kick water bottles over , was late for training plenty of times , he'll probably grow up one day but , if you're putting him in the shop window for us as well as doing good for you guys that's a win / win situation .

Fair enough, seems the consensus is harsh yellow all round. Forgot about Malone altogether and he played for us many times last year! Oops. Solid player TBF.

I watched the game yesterday as a neutral and thought even at 1-0 you looked too good for this league, very impressive display. As to MK, they were missing quality players like Collins, Mendez-Laing, Jones, Tomlinson and Maguire, plus Collar was only used as a sub, so don't know if he was coming back from injury. I think they had a couple of players who had first starts of the season who weren't up to speed also (Kane Wilson, who's a top player for this league, for one). You caught them at the right time.

I won't be surprised if both clubs go up automatically.

Do you have any players out injured you expect to come in and improve the starting XI?

We've got Jason Dadi Svanthorsson, Danny Rose, Doug Tharme and Jamie Walker all out or just coming back. All very solid options at this level. Then we've also got plenty of players who have had decent starts to the season but aren't in the starting eleven currently. We've got competition in every slot if everyone is fit. We could probably field two decent XIs.

Now I would pay good money to see that second XI play.

Hate to sound like a broken record but we will not get promoted with a Centre Back pairing of Dunkley and McFadzean.

Looks alright to me that. Still leaves us with Amaluzor, Henry Brown, Clarke Oduor and Jude Soonsup-Bell that wouldn't be in either XIs as well (if we use our starting XI yesterday as the current first choice XI). Of course, if you mixed them up across two teams as opposed to having a strongest and "weakest" XI then it would be two decent XIs.

I'm surprised to hear that. McFadzean was a stellar signing. I know he's really old but expect him to be a Flint type signing at this level, aka too good.

Dunkley I don't know enough about.

Unfortunately McFadzean has been at fault for quite a few (most?) of our conceded goals. I really liked him at first - obvious quality - but no pace or urgency. Attackers are leaving him behind & Dunks has been caught out few times too. It’s all very lethargic at the back. Sad to say Naylor looks to have slowed a bit too.

You can get away with (hide it) it the further forward you go up the pitch. I've mentioned this to one of your fellow (more outspoken and emotional) Chesterfield fans on here. There is a problem with signing so many golden oldies.

At centre half you can get badly exposed no matter how talented, how experienced and how quick of thought you are.

Saying that I'm still surprised having seen him at Championship level.

Our signings this season have all been younger players....But offering new deals to fleck and mcfadzean was criminal.

Let's not forget we had them both last season and they BOTH got injured. Fleck has never ever looked up to it. Mcfadzean had a good game and a half.

I didn’t mind McFadzean getting a year but it’s not working atm & maybe better if he was an experienced squad player.
Didn’t want Fleck to get a deal but I read it’s appearance or performance based so if that’s true at least he’s not stealing a wage (as much as xx he could have been).

That’s very true but it’s happening too often. We’d got to point of people thinking Jamie Grimes would be a better option! After last Tuesday in that pointless cup I doubt we’ll see him play for us again.

One of them would be fine I think, alongside someone younger, quicker and more athletic. Both is a recipe for disaster.

There's other problems as well I think, mainly we've forgotten how to be incisive and play quickly. 74% possession and 0 SOG should carry a jail sentence. It's all so slow and ponderous and in front of you. Duffy missing hurt yesterday I thought, he's at least quick and somewhat direct. Not sure what crack is with Berry, he'd help.

Definitely missing Duffy least he’s only out for week or two. Berry could be just what we need if he’s ever fit again.

Had to give myself a day before posting as I was worried I might post something I’d regret I was that wound up yesterday (not helped by the traffic getting out of Walsall **** me is it always like that!?)

Going back to what I posted before the game… guess what, we did exactly the same thing we did x4 times against Walsall last season and got a grand total of 1 draw (which we didn’t deserve) & 3 losses out of. 74% possession yesterday, 10 shots (must say that surprised me I didn’t think it was anywhere near that) and not a single one on target. No urgency from minute 1, no directness, no one willing to take a man on get a shot away etc… and then they go down to 10 men with almost half an hour to go…. And we still didn’t lay a glove on them, it was a joke.

People can keep pointing the finger at the defence and that’s fair enough as Fadz did get caught for the goal yesterday and Dunkley didn’t cover him quick enough, but our issues run deeper than that. I’m very worried about us physically, there’s very little pace & power in this squad. Plenty of technically good intricate players, but I’m worried we’ve gone too far that way this summer…

However, not going to panic yet. I think that the 7-1 pumping midweek (even tho in the tinpot cup and ressies played) is raw in peoples minds and that’s why the reaction has been what it’s been to yesterdays game. 13 points from 7 games with a few difficult games in there against sides we always struggle against, isn’t too bad at all. But we seriously need to get a bit more intent back about our play, we’ve slowly turned into a possession obsessed side that’s afraid to take risks… we’re so much better when we take risks and get at teams.

I'd take McGoldrick all day long over 3 or 4 of them stocking fillers we've signed, first half yesterday was crying out for his quality
