Wasn't overly worried after losing first 3 games but definitely worried now, although today's shambles not helped by playing a 5'7'' midfielder at CB and our best CB at RB. Next 3 games look tough and I'll settle for not being in the bottom 2 come mid-Oct. We can still put things right but are desperatly missing a fit Tavares, Ndlovu and Browne.
Well that was very disappointing. Oldham came with a plan, executed it well, with a no nonsense hard working performance and got all the luck when the ball repeatedly dropped loose in their box second half. We were worth a point in many ways, but not good enough to earn it from a losing position if you know what I mean? Bit of a reality check for us today, we just have to move the ball consistently quicker because when we do we look decent, but give a well organised team time to organise and it’s always going to be tough. Two teams who will finish very comfortably in mid table but no where near good enough to challenge the top on that showing.
Great first half for us, could have gone in 4 or 5 up rather than the 3 we did score. Thought the sending off a bit harsh. Second half MK played a whole lot better and we let them have the ball too much. Happy for the three points, not many teams will come away from there with that many.
I saw before the game he averages more fouls per game than any other league ref (31.5) and it really showed. Every Fleetwood player seemed to work out if they just booted the ball 20 yards away and fell over it was a free kick. It wasn’t a blunder filled performance but I wouldn’t want to watch any game he was officiating. Whilst it wasn’t a classic team performance I think we’re starting to see some standout individual stuff - Iorpenda, McDonald, Bedeau, Palmer and Dennis were brilliant today. I get perpetually wound up by people who just scream ‘creativity’, think it’s just one of those things people who don’t know much about football parrot. However, we do lack that mercurial presence who wants to play forward and turn players (I don’t think Grant or Jones have been the answer, maybe Hall would be). I’m still not convinced by Cotter or Gordon on the right and Roos in goal is clearly a problem (as much as I was keen for the crybabies on social media to be made to look silly). So we’re still quite a flawed team with too many gaps but there is a bit of steel and grit that was missing entirely from Maynard’s mob last season, which counts for something if not enough ultimately.
Yeah nothing special but we ground out the win. Had chances for more at 1-0 but Fleetwood had probably enough chances to score themselves. More good signs from the Jatta - Dennis partnership I thought too and the subs all made a positive impact. Wow that is a horrid penalty decision in the Bromley game
Oh is that what Sanders was complaining about? The sending off reply that was on the coverage isn't a great angle to see what happened unfortunately, like yourself I've seen people saying both sides. I'd be worried about how crap you were in the first half if I were you. We should have been out of sight really, absolutely mad that this os the side that got all those back to back clean sheets. Once it's 3-0 and you've had a man sent off then we're in some sort of madcap anything goes type match which is almost an anomaly really. Seems odd that Will Collar started on the bench to me, he's been very good against us on a couple of occasions and can stop teams like us playing. How that Green handball has been missed as well is ridiculous. Be fuming if that's against us.
To call it shocking is to be kind. I have no allegiance either way in this game but that is one of the worst decisions you will see all season.
Terrible decision but unfortunately Bromley are a side that deserve any misery thrust upon them so never mind. Sowunmi trying his best to take Harry Smith’s title as ‘worst bloke in League 2’ whilst he’s out injured
Disgraceful performance from Kettle junior hadn’t got a clue took his dads level of shitness to a new level. Other than that moron happy with the 3 points I'm still not convinced our style is sustainable again over a full season can see us being spent again by late January like last season. Chesterfield play some good stuff and have some very talented players but they didn't really threaten much even when we went down to 10 men that's something they need to address and possibly a lack of pace at the back. They'll still be there or thereabouts though with that squad.
I thought the sending off actually helped MK because we could’ve absolutely whalloped them at 3-0 and made it embarrassing. Once that happened we relaxed far too much and made it way too close. Mix this in with every result and I genuinely think we’ll go up automatically, we’re so much better than every side I’ve seen us against.
I don’t think we’ll have many in the TOTS this year, but I like the way we’ve defended leads in the last couple of weeks. Roos still looks like he’s an outfield player in goal. Fleetwood were surprisingly crap. The only thing more boring than moaning about injuries is moaning about refs but he was truly dire, abysmal, thank Christ his abysmalness didn’t affect the result though.
That penalty given against Grant Smith is a joke. bloody hate Michael Cheek but bloke knows where net is. He’s exactly what we need in terms of actual goal threat.
I've never been more confident of a Town team going up than this one (assuming we make it through the Jan window with McEachran in the squad). It's not just that we look good on the pitch though, there is a buzz about everything to do with the club right now. Feels like everything is aligning this season.
