Sorry, only just seen your post ............. Karl is an attacking midfield player, he generally played one of three roles for us : (a) as part of a duo in central midfield, his role was to get forward into the box, with a sitting midfielder alongside him; undoubtedly his best role (b) on days when we didn't have a genuine wide player/winger, he played on the left of a midfield 3 or 4, acting as a poor man's winger (c) occasionally we'd play him in the hole behind a lone striker Karl is left footed, and quite good in the air. I think we signed him in 2011 and for the first couple of years with us, he was one of our best players. He nearly left us last summer, because he wanted to be a full-time footballer in the Football League (ideas above his station? ), but depending on who you believe; either nobody came in for him, or nobody offered enough money for him. When a move didn't happen, he sulked, fell out with the then manager, and spent the early part of last season out of the team. A new manager took over just before Christmas, got Karl back "onside", and he performed well for the last 3 or 4 months of the season. As a player, I'd say he's a very good Skrill Premier standard. As a bloke, he's a bit moody, even surly; and plays a lot of golf in his spare time. Oh yeah, and watch out for his entourage of female supporters, quite often his family and friends would come to watch him, and meet him in the bar afterwards .......... you've never seen so much make up and false tan at a footie match, there'd be an orange glow surrounding the room .
Non-league footie is very Southern based ........ once you get below Level 6, there are far more Southern based teams/leagues
Yeah well get used to your life in non-league football as you deserve it the way your fans were taunting us for a week before the final game, never before has a relegation to The Conference been so pleasing to other team's fans as yours are a disgrace as was proved after the Mansfield game. You are the weakest link goodbye!
Feel for Brizzle Rovers fans, looking through that list they surely only have Salisbury to look forward to as a decent away trip, seeing as they've played Torquay loads over the last few years. Local plod will no doubt make Salisbury a Tuesday night in December, meaning a fairly horrible season ahead I reckon.
No, majority of the pubs in the centre were closed for some reason They put a beer tent up for us, and just went in there.
Hmmm i'm worried about HUFC. Our 'new investors' aren't revealing themselves we have another winding up petition from our ex manager on 2 June and we have to clear the debts by 6 June or wer'e out the league and Chester stay up
I've just seen that report in our local rag the Chester Chronicle. Usually the clubs that are in financial worries always seem to find the money from somewhere at the 11th hour: The report here: http://www.chesterchronicle.co.uk/s...news/chester-fc-league-officials-rule-7217607
I'm not actually terribly bothered by the fact Torquay have been relegated, in league two we turned up to most games thinking we'd get tanked, but I remember turning up to most places thinking we'd tank the other team, In my opinion it's better to be the bigger fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond. Looking forward to it!
You might be surprised how competitve this league is .............. many so called "big teams" have come down from the Football League and been surprised at how difficult it is to go straight back up.
We wont be much better than Mid Table. This leagues a lot tougher than the last time we came here. Anyone expecting us to be up near the top all season will be disappointed.
