Just a hunch but I think we will find a lot of disappointment from Birmingham fans next season, going to be tougher than they think.
In all seriousness I do agree to an extent, there are an element of the newer fans who are almost expecting us to steamroller the league just because they’ve seen Ipswich do similar, that is by far the exception to the rule. As I’m on record for saying, if we can be safe with half a dozen games to go, sat 10th-14th ish with a view to push on the following years then I’ll see that as progress. Whether our owners will agree is another thing, I suspect they’ll be setting their sights higher. They’ve already had their fingers burnt once in this league with the Rooney saga, let’s hope they have reset their expectation levels going into next season..
That seems like a fair and realistic aspiration for next season. The actual challenge has not started for Birmingham yet, when they go in to the championship and like many others throw tens of millions of losses to gain promotion to the promised land of lots of revenue, but also VAR before inevitably being relegated at best within two years, and repeat. If you do that then I think that would be success. If you manage to do a Ipswich then fair play, that takes some doing, and it also mostly avoids the money pit that is the Championship, which is by far the biggest financial **** up league in the country.
108pts with a game to spare is beyond what anyone could ever have hoped for, maybe that was the shock all along?
I wasn’t expecting us to be so ruthless at this stage of the season. I thought our players would all be on the beach, I have to congratulate everyone involve with the turnaround in mindset and personnel. It’s been the best season since the europa one.
I think that's the most in impressive thing for me. Winning the title was expected (but given the level of expectation is a feat in itself) but keeping going for the record when your season was essentially over weeks ago shows a strong mindset.
Our women failed to get the win that would’ve secured promotion. Our academy has won back its status one category. Fantastic news.
Fantastic news in regards transport infrastructure for our new stadium. It’s happening bluenoses. Massive Blues announcement as Government gives millions for Sports Quarter trams
It isn’t true, he’s an asset stripping hedge fund flip merchant who is going to run us into the ground. Forget all the official sources confirming it, Villa fans ITK on Twitter & YouTube told us ‘for definite’.
“The next train leaving Grand Central will be the 13.05 Trevor Francis line, calling at Birmingham Sports Quarter and the Jude Bellingham Megadome” It’s going to kill them
Can’t pretend I’m not jealous of the direction these new owners are taking #bcfc… they’re going to be part of the Premier League’s elite contingent in a couple of years I am sure of it. That being said, I am glad it’s happening to a proper club with proper fans. https://x.com/robpusb/status/1930254884734906400?s=46
It genuinely pains me to admit this but with Blues new owners ambitions for their new Stadium and Sports Quarter I think it's only a matter of time until they get promoted and over time challenge us for once in their history #AVFC #BCFC https://x.com/emerysvilla/status/1930265409803997369?s=46
