Might of waited a couple more days or even a couple more hours before briefing the press and getting it out just after an FA Cup Final win.

Lack of respect for a manager you appointed, who has won you a trophy and for the FA Cup, who's final will now be overshadowed by the news.

If he played Lukaku at Chelsea and he didn't get 20 goals a season and it played a part in them finishing below first he would be fired.
That is not the same for United. If he gets 4th or above and integrates some exciting youth heavily he will be praised here.

Chelsea and Real couldn't give a crap if he used youth or not, they wanted the best and the best only.

I know I'm not a Man Utd fan but if I was getting rid of Van Gaal for Mourinho I'd be very happy.

Yes, he's just won the FA cup and plays kids which are good, but Mourinho is better. With Mourinho your transfers will improve dramatically. I don't think Van Gaal truly wanted to use the kids, but was forced to by his poor signings in the first place. For instance, when Martial signed he basically said "If he's shit, it's not my fault" etc.

Mourinho even used kids whilst at Chelsea out of desperation, the difference is Van Gaal's were excellent. Besides, when Mourinho gets going you won't need kids. And Van Gaal was never a long-term manager anyway, it's not like he was trying to build a legacy and stay for years.

A lot of his talk this season has been him covering all outcomes with excuses in case something goes wrong.
"I need fast players" Didn't sign fast players
"I need a centre back" Neglects getting one for 4 transfer windows
"He was too sloppy" Every time one player made one natural mistake in a game and it played little part in the reason we lost.

I honestly think Mourinho will love Martial, Rashford, Fosu and CBJ. All 4 will feature heavily under him. And because he knows he is not expected to win the title if he goes with youth he will have no problems integrating them.

    They'll be more signings.

No chance for Rashford, Lingard and the youngsters.

Lower Prem teams need to be on the phone.

    Again, why?
Based on his time at Inter, Real or Chelsea? Teams like Madrid and Chelsea who wanted titles and nothing less? Teams who couldn't give a crap about youth?

He has not had the chance to use youth without an axe hovering around his neck if he didn't finish first.

Same will not be the case here. Fans will love him if he uses some youth and gets 4th or above playing some half decent football.

When it was leaked that he was in contact with the club about the position pleading his case I bet this was his main point. If they guarantee him freedom to use youth he will do so happily.

At least that is how I see it.

Stop kidding yourself mate, Jose only relies on experienced and ready made players, he doesn't trust young players to stick to his rigid system.

I'm happy Mourinho has gone there in truth as I reckon he's passed his peak and on a downward spiral into madness :)

Calm down. It was only a year ago he won the league.

I agree though, Jose prefers the ready made players, however I'm willing to give him a chance.

I wonder who will stay or go?

    Out:
    Mata?
    Depay?

Mata will go. A shame though, I really rate Mata.

Depay could flourish under Mourinho. I still think Depay has something to give.

Apparently it's Mourinho's people leaking the news.

    Never change Jose.

I don't think Mourinho will really play that many youngsters, Martial is a given and I assume Rashford will feature just because he's so good.

The thing is, who really cares? If a lower-table equivalent of Mourinho came in and replaced Pulis, got rid of Leko and our other kids, but improved us massively with older players - I really wouldn't care. Too much is made of kids.

Nope. BBC validate their news from two sources. One of them will be on United's side

I do agree to a point, he won't go all out (but neither did LVG, he dropped most of them when Blind, Valencia and Rojo were fit, only Martial and Rashford stayed consistent because they were so good)
But I think he will pick two or three.
Martial and Rashford will feature if he is manager, that I am sure. I think for certain he will take to Fosu as well, he is a ridiculous talent and not many could overlook him.

Still, won't get my hopes up too much until I see the official announcement
