Why is Windsor Park described as a no-go area for Catholics?

oh goodness grief, would you little kids stop spouting bullshit politics about the irish league, especially when you dont have a ****ing clue what your talking about.

Windsor Park is situated in an area on the outskirts of the Belfast 'Village' area, which i would now say is about 20% catholic, these are people who can live their life in the area without threats. Cliftonville supporters dont even have to go through this area, in fact they are prevented from doing so since they used to smash everything on their way. They now get the bus to the boucher rd and when they had the support they would flood through the slip road gates beside tile market to walk to windsor. Clitonville supporters dont go to Windsor because they are glory hunters and only go to home matches, same as most other IL teams except for Glentoran.

Glentoran are getting a new ground so hopefully cliftonville supporters won't wreck it.
that thing at the weekend about glens fans got blown way out of proportion. majority of glens fans are well behaved but for a few mindless people who want violence i.e one time at aboxing day match in the snow at the oval against binfield where there was quite bad violence.

As a catholic myself, I don't enjoy seeing Union Jack's, Ulster flags and UVF/UFF banners approaching the ground and the loyalist signing inside the ground.

If the IFA want more catholics to go to Windsor, then they have to do somrthing about the flags and signing but they won't because Linfield in involved and they don't want to spoil their good releationship. (Excuse my spelling)

What's wrong with flying the flag of your country at a Northern Ireland game? Union Jacks, and Loyalist flags shouldn't be allowed, but what's wrong with the Northern Ireland flag?

    Some people...

How can I move them if I havn't seen a tricolour at Solitude in years and when they were there, they weren't on the scale as they are at Windsor.

Don't see too many tri-colours in the Windsor area do you:rolleyes:

Any way I agree with Andi. The Flying of the Ulster flag and Union Jack might be offensive to Catholics, however they are the flags that represent OUR country and should be allowed to fly wherever. I don't agree with the flying of Israelie (Sp) flags or UVF/UFF flags or any paramilitary flag. I also do not agree with the flying of Tri-colours any where in Northern Ireland.

It's apity on you that you don't like seeing the Irish Tri-colour flying in thr North. Like it or not we as Irish citizens have a right to fly OUR Countries flag anywhere we want.

Of course you have the right to fly your flag, who said you did'nt? The least you can do is grant Irish Citizens the same rights that you have. And if a Nationalist Lord Mayor wants to hang the Irish Tricolour in HIS own office, then why should'nt he?

He shouldn't because he is the Lord Mayor of a British city. The Union flag should be flown and also the Ulster flag as that is the flag of the country the city is in. A forign countrys flag has no place in the city hall. Not hard to understand but keep using your own sectarian double standard logic:angryfire

You do have a right to fly whatever flag you wish, but on the same point, organisations, including sport and political bodies have every right to refuse permission to fly it because its not the flag of this country.

In the same respect you refuse to fly the union flag, and rubbish the royal family, but it doesnt stop you using little bank notes with the queens head on it, or queuing up at british social security offices, or accepting little brown envelopes in the post with On Her Majesties Service written at the top. Sponge off the UK, spout for Eire, typical double standards!

Im so sorry my little naive bigoted feckwit, i should have stated national flags. I did however point out that any sporting or political body can refuse it being allowed to be flown, as is the case, at Windsor.
