We had that somewhere recently in a mens game too. They checked for a foul first but it didn’t really matter as previously there had been an offside anyway so wasted time . Looks like Italy and Spain are heading through.
Hey, guys, we have an own "Women's Euro 2025" thread, in case you all have forgotten it Here, look: Women's Euro 2025

Trust Spurs not to be one of the 7 WSL clubs trialling it Alcohol trial to be expanded across women's football matches next season
Minimum salaries to be introduced in WSL and WSL2. No details on how much but it's expected to be in line with a full time salary. Women's Super League: Minimum salaries introduced in WSL and WSL 2 this season
Step in the right direction for the growth of the game. They're obviously a long way off earning mega money at that level but at least nobody should be having to juggle another job in addition to the football. Hopefully money trickles down the pyramid so it's not a hinderance to independent clubs - some don't have men's clubs that can help the women's clubs run at a big loss which is the case for the WSL.
If a Women's club side are only being watched by a meagre crowd every week then their players should be part time, just as clubs further down the football pyramid have part time players. Subsidising the women's team is a false equivalence and makes something of a mockery of the PSR rules that so many clubs are struggling to comply with.
PSR / FFP and finances in general just don't seem to be a concern in the women's game at the moment. I think we're very much in the growth period and financial regulation will likely come later so if the second tier can turn professional then I guess that helps the growth. I guess it's down to individual clubs to decide whether they want to support that growth by subsidising it from the men's side. Blackburn withdrew from the WSL 2 because of this and Wolves didn't apply for promotion to WSL 2 for the same reason. On a somewhat similar note, London City Lionesses have just smashed the transfer record in the women's game which is particularly noteworthy from a newly promoted club that are completely independent. They definitely don't have the revenues to make signings like that but have big investment behind them. Particularly interesting because you'd expect the newly promoted club to be the favourite to go down but they've had a strong transfer window so it'd be a big shock if they're anywhere near relegation. I think Leicester are probably favourites to go down with Spurs and West Ham not far behind. Spurs finished second-bottom last year and haven't really shown any ambition this summer. We're definitely in a relegation scrap this season so hopefully we start the season well v West Ham. If we can't win those sort of games, we're not staying up this season.
City and Chelsea teams at women's game 20 mins to kick off and they are posing with Euro trophy, **** that. Get the 3 points
Arsenal kick off today against London City Lionesses. Big fixture, LCL have put down big money. The club announced that 15K+ season tickets have been sold so hopefully close to 20k for every WSL match this season. Gonna have to be near perfect to beat Chelsea to the title. They were pretty strong for most of Slegers time in the league before the CL run took it's toll. The club announced Russo had signed a new deal this week too.
Arsenal not off to the best of starts. They'll probably come back but London City Lionesses look decent. Sunderland won 4-0 away to Sheff Utd in WSL 2 last night so will be watching their results over the season, hopefully we'll be the newly promoted team next season.
