People said the same before the defeat to Southampton and thrashing to Brighton though. Much much rather give a new manager the Forest and Bournemouth games to hope for the new manager bounce in relegation 6 pointers. Not going into them with a manager who’s overseen the worst defensive record in Premier League history.
But I'm talking in relation to the 6-2 defeat by Spurs. Everybody is surprised he hasn't been sacked yet after that result.
I think it is more the combination of results. Shipping 11 goals in 2 games is a sign of things getting worse. Doesn't matter who it is against.
Everyone was surprised when he wasn’t sacked after the 5-2 defeat by Brighton as well though and after throwing the fans under the bus after the defeat to ManUtd and after throwing owners and players under the bus after the defeat to Southampton. He just won’t seem to die. Would probably survive 6-0 defeats to Forest and Bournemouth and people will still be saying “give him a couple more games to turn it around”. He’s lost the fans and players more through his actions and comments than results, 2 wins vs 2 newly promoted sides won’t get them back onside, the atmosphere around the club will remain toxic while he’s here.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s sacked tomorrow. Clubs frequently do it on work days only, no idea why.
And Bournemouth on the weekend, I'm sure you will pick up points there too plus Palace after just look a bit soft currently.
We've lost three games this season. Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal after one of the hardest starts. We'll be a challenge.
Nah, you don't understand mate. We're winning a game. Albeit our first win of the season and against the side sat in 19th, but it's clear we're mopping up with the rest of the league now. Looking forward to Europe.
Why would you even bother getting promoted if you're not going to give it a go? Forest wasting the precious premier league viewers time yet again.
LOL, Forest are everyone’s dogs bitch at the moment. They could of course pick up as we did in the early 90s, think we had 4 points going into December.
We're perilously close to the dreaded zone but as CPFC2010 says we've had a ridiculous start. We've played Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea in our first seven. In the other three games we've drawn two and won one. If you'd asked people to predict our results up until now we're probably about where most would expect. The acid test will be from now until Boxing Day. We've got Leeds (H), Leicester (A), Wolves (H), Everton (A), Southampton (H), West Ham (A), Forest (A) and Fulham (H). It's very likely we'll be title contenders by the new year.
I was thinking: Why does Palace have the 3rd most xGA per game in the PL? Aren't they top half material? This explains it
