Looks like he could be Fulham bound for a ridiculous amount of cash but do I care?

The 27-year-old is set to join for about £12m, a fee that would break Fulham's transfer record beating that of a certain flop by the name of Steve Marlet.

    What!?

    FROM TEAMTALK.COM
Cottagers set to complete AJ capture

Striker Andrew Johnson has undergone a medical at Fulham on Monday ahead of a planned £12million transfer from Everton.

Moyes has failed with an initial £11.8million bid for the 21-year-old Portugal international, with Sporting seemingly insisting on a £20million deal.

Everton are unlikely to be prepared to go that high, but the sale of Johnson to the west Londoners would certainly help boost Moyes' transfer budget.

Johnson's career at Everton virtually ended last week when he is believed to have been reluctant to play in a friendly at Preston when he heard a move to Fulham was imminent.

Although Everton chief executive Keith Wyness denied at the time that a bid had been received from Fulham, Johnson's days at Goodison Park have been numbered ever since an angry exchange with Moyes at Deepdale.

Johnson did not travel to Chicago with the rest of the Everton squad last night, heightening the prospect of a move. The England international is believed to want a return to London for family reasons.

Now Johnson has traveled to Craven Cottage for a medical and Fulham will have to break their transfer record to sign him. Fulham paid £11.5million to Lyon for Steve Marlet in 2001.

Bit of a shock - Fulham are building a decent squad.

Would be a fantastic move, if not a little pricey.

Sky said it was 8 million which could rise to 11m.

Can see him doing really well if this does happen.

And I now find myself wanting Fulham to do well next year! :eeek :)

The fee will more than likely be 'undisclosed'.

think he his more of a goal-scorer than crouch plus he is good as a lone striker which will be useful for fulham therefore i feel for 11mill he is as good if not better value than crouch imo

I think it's a good signing. He's a very proven goalscorer, so that's probably why the fee is a little hefty. He'll win you penalties (apparently), so that's good. And he makes a good target man.

Roy Hodgson is building a very good squad. I think Fulham should be looking at a mid-table finish this year.

If you think back it was only last season that Spurs paid £16m for Bent. This AJ transfer seems like a good deal for both teams.

I'd say the confirmed move will be announced today or tomorrow...

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11681_3879169,00.html

"Everton have confirmed an offer has been accepted from Fulham for striker Andrew Johnson.

The England international is now discussing personal terms at Craven Cottage, with Fulham admitting Johnson is undergoing a medical.

Fulham have been favourites to sign Johnson in recent weeks, despite interest from Premier League rivals Sunderland and Wigan Athletic.

The former Crystal Palace forward is thought to favour a return to London for family reasons and could become a Fulham player in the next 24 hours.

He had been left out of Everton's squad for the pre-season trip to the United States and the Toffees have now revealed a deal has been agreed with Fulham.
    Eight-figure sum

A statement on the club's official website read: "Everton can confirm that it has agreed an eight-figure sum with Fulham for the services of Andrew Johnson.

"This is subject to the player agreeing personal terms and negotiating a medical."

Johnson was a club record signing for the Toffees for a fee of £8.6million in 2006 and he could cost Fulham in the region of £12million.

During his two seasons at Goodison Park, the 27-year-old has scored 22 goals in 74 appearances for David Moyes' side."

Well if he stays fit (which seems to have been his main problem for the last two seasons) then I'd say you're guaranteed 15-20 goals from him this season.

Good player would loved to have kept him but he never really settled away from london which seems to be the main reason for leaving,i think fulham fans will be delighted with this signing,if you get his confidence back he can be very dangerous

    good luck to the lad
