What a difference a week makes. A tough draw, but was always going to be in a semi-final, unless you're the Skates. Tonight looked impossible, beating Liverpool over two legs in 2017 with the second at Anfield looked impossible, Newcastle is a better fixture than both. It's the hope that kills you.
Unreal scenes man. We weren't great tonight. But I don't care. Semi final against Utd. Nothing to fear as we are huge underdogs. Bring it on.
There can't be many teams that have had an easier run to a final than Man Utd? A league 1, Championship and 2 relegation threatened Prem teams - all at home with the semi 2nd leg at home too.
Really? I've never needed to pay much attention to cup competitions past our first round where we get knocked out.
Worse display since Pep took over, dreadful from every single one of them, long trip home this, told the Saints fans not give up hope, good luck.
Great day. Thought we were great for 20 minutes and deservedly ahead, then Wolves were well on top for the rest of the game & we were lucky to escape with a draw. Amazing to win another penalty shootout, with redemption for Gibbs-White after his semi final miss (how DID he squeeze that in after his weird run up?!). Shit draw to the semis, but delighted to be there for the first time in 31 years. I was 4 years old!
Shit refs are a given but recently it feels like they've just completely given up any pretence at competence. They literally had to tape Matheus' boot together. His ****ing shin pad came off. The performance from us was okay apart from the first 15-20 where we were all over the place. We really should've taken a chance or 2 in normal time and put it to bed but that's Wolves all over isn't it. Lopetegui changed formation 3 or 4 times during the game and each time it had a positive effect. It was probably because I was up at 2 am for work yesterday and by the final whistle I was basically a ****ing zombie but I walked away from the ground yesterday not feeling particularly bothered by it at all. We've already got an FA Cup 3rd round replay against Liverpool and a squad that's very patchy in places, we need extra games against United in midweek like we need a hole in the head. I found the handbags and posturing at the end from MGW just bizarre as well, I genuinely don't understand what his issue is. Compare between that and Willy Boly being applauded off the pitch by both home & away fans. Sent from my Pixel 4a (5G) using Tapatalk
They are still making up for our FA Cup run in 1999, which is easily the hardest FA Cup run of all time.
He purposely put himself in front of Dennis to instigate the touch. I've watched the replay a few times and it's clever to try and win the penalty, I've seen them given for definite but it was justice considering Traore blatantly fouled Lodi moments before it. MGW clearly didn't leave you lot on good terms did he. Getting stick from Wolves fans since he left, abuse during the game, he just wanted to give some back I suppose? Wolves were the better team over the 90. First 25 minutes we was comfortable, you lot didn't look at the races at all. Then two great chances towards the end of the half should've seen you level. Second half we weren't good enough going forward, but defended well enough to hang on. If that game went on for another 5 minutes you'd have probably got a winner. Just hoping we can give Utd a real game. Need to be much better. You never know in football, don't write us off just yet.
