Would love for the excellent form to continue but I generally worry about this one. For the first time this season we are starting a game as favourites. We seem to have thrived on proving people wrong so far but I think we will come undone in this game. 0-1

I’ll be amazed if that happens mate. It’s driving me to drink and I’ll be in the Hornimans at 10.We really have been playing shite especially away. 2 or 3-0 I’d say.

I’m sure I read the pub we used to use is now closed, out of the station, cross over the tracks then almost back on yourself, about half a mile up that road, had a huge back garden? Can’t remember the name for the life of me.

We get into London around 10.30, going to get a Wetherspoons brekkie round by Kings Cross the head toward London Bridge.

Looking forward to the day, the football/result less so, we’ve been garbage all year, even more so away from home. A steady 2-0 home win I imagine.

    Sounds like The Pickwick?

Used to love that pub, had family parties etc in their function room a few times over the years too. Another establishment in Charlton closed down.

The Angerstein seems to be the away pub now, if you’re heading there you’re best off getting off the train at Westcombe Park and it’s a couple of minutes walk from there. Then about a 15 or so minutes walk to the ground.

As for the game, given our start we should be looking for nothing less than a win but I’m obviously cautious that the unbeaten run will end at some point. Seems to be rumours that Lyle Taylor is injured which will hinder us massively.

Yes, was definitely the Pickwick :thumb I remember now you’ve said it as we have a pub of the same name in our pool league, shame that’s gone, the kids all used to have a mass game of football out the back while we had a beer.

We’ll definitely have a strategic drink elsewhere and come into Charlton late.

13th September 2019 - 100 years to the day since the first ever game played at The Valley.

Hope Stan and Trev feel honoured to share this special occasion with us.

So many memories, good and bad and many more to come.

    Love this place.

Have to be honest Bobbs, the only thing my lad has mentioned he’s looking forward to is “are they going to throw all the tennis balls on the pitch again...?” :D

To be serious, if there’s a moments reflection I’ll be thinking of my old pal Splodge, Charlton the last time we played you was his last away day before passing away around two years ago, his missus had said he wanted to come to one last away day before the inevitable, early 40s :dumbstruck

Haha no tennis balls this year unfortunately.

Sorry to hear about your mate. I’ll have a pint for him before the game.

Have been here so many times and always had a great time. I remember when yous were in all kinds of trouble and have seen us play you away at 3 different grounds.

Good to see you doing so well and no doubt we’ll add to the celebrations by rolling over and handing yous 3 points. It’s what we do.

    Absolute ****ing shambles.

Birmingham are no great shakes themselves but we didn’t threaten them at all really at home, over 90 mins. Poor.

The goal was a joke, I doubt they’ll score an easier one all season.

We look limp up front without Taylor, Hemed isn’t fit to lace his boots. A real worry that we’ve got a at least the next few weeks without him

Both managers sent off - bit of tension on the touchline then?

Didn’t see what happened, just saw the ref walk over. I think only Bowyer was sent off, their manager booked.

Worst part of all is Stan is going to be lauding it all over London tonight, isn’t he?
