Winning the League Cup only results in qualification for the Europa Conference League from next season, and winning the Conference League gets qualification for the group stages of the Europa league.

    How exciting.

you'd expect which ever team is in that to be amongst the favourites to win the cup, could be fun to watch if not all that prestigious

Not sure what I make of this.

Had we been in it in 2013/14, after winning the League Cup, we'd have had a good chance of winning a European trophy, and having a second season in Europe.

A structured way of progression and having more sides involved in Europe is a good thing imo.

I still think UEFA should ditch the safety nets of elimination though. Once you're knocked out of Europe, you stay out.

I think the Europa League will benefit with the reduction to 32 teams

I agree. It has become too bloated. Much better to have three more streamlined competitions, but not too exciting for those teams who had previously hoped to progress in the Champions League.

I think the worst thing about the Europa League is those sides who finished 3rd in their Champions League group, dropping into the knockout stages.

Effectively rewarding failure and making it ten times harder for those that have qualified naturally and grafted through 6 group games, to be able to go all the way. **** it off.

  9. You've certainly got that right
