Yeah, you'd have to be pure idiots accepting the poison chalice of an invitation now having already seen the widespread condemnations of those already accepted.

Protests around the grounds, pitch invasions. Stop the games from being played. Make it a really nasty atmosphere for the plastics.

Can the mods promise not to create a "Super League board" on the site if it does go ahead? @TLC @StretfordEnd

On twitter now Klopp has threatened to walk, could be the usual fake news, could be real who knows.

I think whether this happens or not depends on if uefa, fifa and the respective leagues stand their ground. If players can’t represent their country anymore, and teams can’t compete in their domestic leagues, I just don’t see how this is a viable option

If the notion the clubs would opt to prioritise a "super league" over the actual domestic leagues then he should have already handed them his resignation.

It’s really refreshing to see the fans of these clubs taking a stand.

How many people are really gonna give a shit about a cup that has no history behind it even if they went about things the proper way?

Lets not label the clubs hey? The club is the fans, the history, the players, so much more than a gang of greedy **** board members....this shitstorm is merely greedy owners. Unless playing staff, management, etc comply you can't really tar them with the same brush. The more this goes on, the more I'm doubting many players or managers will be interested. If anything, the clubs, their entity, their identity is being destroyed by these ****s!!!

Hopefully its a massive failure, all owners involved are forced from their respective clubs and this blows over.

This does remind me of a passage in this book on the Hicks/Gillett years at Liverpool (An Epic Swindle by Brian Reade) and on whether we could still really trust just another set of American owners....

    Turns out we ultimately couldn't.

I live under 3 miles from the Madjeski stadium, so I guess that's where I'll be watching my football if this goes ahead.

"Elite" teams that failed to qualify. That statement itself is hilarious.

Maybe they weren't as elite as they thought?

I'd be embarrassed to qualify for a competition based solely on my clubs history. It's ridiculous.
