After a season of ups and downs, dominance at the top with the odd bit of hope for the rest thrown in, we reach the end of the line.

I am going to do the write up in reverse this time around, and we will start with the May Player of the Month award.
This was a tight affair this month, but we have a winner:

    3rd - Super_horns (109 Points)
    2nd - shudewill (113 Points)

    ***************************************************
    1st - Daz_Blade (116 POINTS)
    ***************************************************

Daz_Blade makes the end of the season all about him as he claims a 2nd POTM award in a row having taken the April award as well. This is the sort of consistency that can win league titles.......top work mate

    Player of the Month:

    September - @SalopTillIDie
    October - @TLC
    November - @Cal_BCFC
    December - @SalopTillIDie
    January - @Vanni

    February - @GTFCfish
    March - @SalopTillIDie
    April - @Daz_Blade
    May - @Daz_Blade

Next up, we move onto the Inaugural Mini-League series. Going into the final week of Season 6, there were a number of players still with an interest in claiming that first ever title and that even included Cal_BCFC in the Best of the Rest group. It was always going to be a stretch for him to reach the top and he knew that he would need to overhaul Connor at the top of the group to have any chance - he achieved that but was blindsided by Super_horns who put in a fine gallop in the home straight to leap from the bottom 2 places to the top of the group, taking his overall points tally into a positive in the process. Cal did take 2nd spot and those extra points do mean he takes a 3rd place finish in the overall table along with StretfordEnd who ends up in those bottom 2 places to drop points right at the end. It was excitement right to the end in the Best of the Best group, especially at the bottom where family meant nothing as TAFKAP escaped relegation but in doing so shoved TLC into the bottom 2 who will start the competition in the 2nd tier next season alongside SalopTillIDie who also faces relegation. At the top both Vanni and shudewill had aspirations of getting their name onto the brand new trophy but it wasn't to be as Daz_Blade kept up his superb form to keep hold of the top spot that he has had for all 6 weeks of the final season. And those 10 points he is awarded for that top spot finish
are enough for him to reach the summit of the overall table at the perfect time!

And so our inaugural of the GOS Mini-League Series is........

    Mini-League Champion 20-21 Daz.jpg

That just leaves us with the main event to be sorted out. After 39 weeks of graft, tears and sacrifice we have another league crown to hand out. Before that though, there are some impressive scores to work through from this final week with 3 players claiming their highest scores of the season and 2 clearing 40 points. It is TAFKAP who takes the final week high score of the season though as he claims a 6th of the season, helped by a 4th full house bonus - a remarkable number of week high scores for someone who has escaped the wooden spoon by the skin of his teeth. But that he has done and it is Connor who, having joined late, was always on the chase. It was an impressive feat to have actually got off the bottom for short periods but a week low score this week, coupled with TAF smashing the week means he does take home the wooden spoon (the budget wouldn't stretch to one though so you'll have to award yourself one from the kitchen drawers :D ). Another notable score comes from Super_horns who takes the 2nd high score of the week and also claims a 5th full house bonus of the season enabling him to leap above shudewill and claim a top 4 finish, matching last season, whilst bagging his highest score of the season. A 3rd full house bonus was also claimed by our resident fish with GTFCfish claiming his highest score of the season thanks to a 4th full house for him - brought him to within 6 points of overhauling me but I can celebrate a 9th placed finish, a slide from my 5th placed finish last season! Another one who slides from last season is TLC who manages a steady 8th place finish but better news just ahead for StretfordEnd who gains 3 places on last season. Cal_BCFC was a top 3 player last season but has endured an Arsenal style slide as fails to make it into the top 5 this season, with his 3rd place position being taken by Vanni who has had a very solid debut season to claim a place on the final podium, finishing just 11 points off that magical 1000pt mark for the season. Both he and Daz_Blade kept the champion in waiting under some pressure in the last few weeks, with Daz finishing just 1 point shy of 1000 and only 30 away from top spot as he claims a runners up spot for the 2nd season in a row - and having finished 101 points from the title last season, just 30 is a fair improvement.

But it is that man once again who sits atop everybody else, the King of GOS, the guy everybody wants to be(at) and with another 1000+ point finish the title remains in Shropshire. The levels of consistency are pretty remarkable and he has been sat at the top of the table since very early in the season and having fended off the last rebellion to his crown from Vanni and Daz, I give you our Goals on Saturday 2020/2021 League Champion - SALOPTILLIDIE
