Italy dark horses?
Who will Italy potentially get if they win the group? Would like to see their midfield tested properly, cuz the Swiss and the Turks have been walkovers so far
For the group?
Alright ya. I'm probably thinking of them 3 or 4 years ago
The tournament. They'll pump your mob x
No bother, just seen this.
2nd place will mean 2nd in Group B - Finland , Denmark or Russia .
So good chance for Wales .
Past results suggest that they are similar in quality, at least not a huge gulf between the sides.
Switzerland have recently beaten Belgium, held Germany/Spain to draws. Not to mention that Switzerland qualified for the World Cup in 2018 while Italy didn't.
Don't forget that Italy are playing home here with a days extra rest, while Switzerland have travelled half way across the continent in the space of 4 days. That's an advantage for Italy.
The Valiant have Italy been attacking and pressing high like this in all their games lately under mancini? I like it and wouldn't mind them winning it playing like this. Certainly better than watching france
There was your Xhaka error for the match.
Surprised they don't use Zakaria in midfield look a bit light in there.
They’re more than dark horses. Gotta be one of the favourites. Hardly put a foot wrong so far
We’re in danger of losing top-spot here.
I only watch them now and then, but generally will read match reports, and yeah - there's been a lot of love for Mancini's style, and a lot of enthusiasm for the team.
Put it like this - do you think the world's biggest clubs covet Barella or Zakaria? Is Immobile a better striker or Embolo? Spinazzola or Ricardo Rod? You could go on through the entire squad. Locatelli who has just scored - another huge talent linked with huge clubs. Italy have a better player in EVERY SINGLE POSITION. They have one of the best young defenders in the world on the bench. They've got Chiesa on the bench. Verratti not starting, Pellegrini got injured.. Then there's the players who didn't even make the squad. There's absolutely no comparison whatsoever. But no - it must be because the Swiss have travelled The Swiss could make a miraculous recovery and win 1-4, and Italy would still have the far superior squad.
Unbelievable that Switzerland have only scored more than one goal once in 15 tournament games! How can they be so consistently boring?
After one and a half games, I reckon Italy is the second favorite to win this tournament. They have recovered strenght and pression and manage to put together a serious bunch of quality players.
My bet today is if Italy doesn't cross with France they will reach the final.
Very impressive from Italy again .
Locatelli for the golden boot
Italy have the better players, but there isn't a massive gulf between the teams like is being suggested by yourself. They are good young players, but never going to reach the world class status such as Mbappe, Modric, etc.
Switzerland have always been a team that are greater than the sum of their parts, that rely on organisation and being drilled rather than individual talents. The Swizz are dead on their feet out there, that was clear from about the 40th minute, when they were jogging around in their half looking like they had just played 80 minutes of football rather than 40.
There is more than enough evidence out there from European Football that shows that teams who play on Sunday after flying around Europe on Thursday perform much worse on the Sunday. Huge advantage today for Italy with regards to how the fixtures have worked out.
Switzerland really do have the worst of it from a travelling perspective. Having to travel from Baku to Rome, back to Baku and play three games in very hot conditions is some effort in 8 days. Hopefully that will have an effect on them in the Turkey game, which is effectively an away game again.
