One of my favourite football fact, that.

Outscored Pele and only went to one World Cup. Absolutely mental

Australia have all of a sudden realised there’s a World Cup on. Even the news channels are following it now. Great atmosphere at Federation square for the Tunisia game apparently, the celebrations at the final whistle were mental..

The real World Cup for Australia is for the Women's. Hope everyone's already up for it and that Australia will put on a good show. I'm not flying to the other side of the world for the hosts to not be bothered by the whole thing (yes I do realise the Rugby WC is a month later). Going to 2 games in Melbourne so should be good.

About the game, I thought we weren't trying 100% to win this and that a draw would have suited Deschamps just fine but Mbappé had other ideas. Two very important goals in an otherwise poor performance from him by his standards (especially in the 1st half). Danes were as negative as expected and have been disappointing so far but are still a huge aerial threat (tbh, we're very bad at defending set-pieces). Not sure if they'll beat Australia. Rooting for the socceroos. Not sure who I want France to meet in R16. Argentina? Too recent. Poland and the Saudis? Too dangerous to lose against.

With France resting 9 players think I'll choose BBC2 & Australia v Denmark with the Aussies needing a draw & the Danes a win that's if Tunisia don't thrash the French , lots of permutations still .

    That French bench

Looking forward to seeing Kolo Muani as he's touted as a talent @Dirk will probably have seen more of him than me for Frankfurt.

Take their star men out and this French team looks really ordinary.

Now that stirs things up, the other two in the other game are going out unless they do something.

Danes have been one of the biggest disappointments in this World Cup, expected them to easily get out of this group.
