Cracking 0-3 away win & I think the 1st away team to beat the Wimps in the league this season but what a shower of sh*te they are , set up 5-4-1 & were looking for the draw after only 5 mins , took Posh about 30 mins to suss them out then scored & should have gone in at half time 2 up whereas Lincoln changed shape late in the half & were slightly more adventurous . Thought Ollie Norburn & Jack Taylor were superb in midfield for us today , no surprise that Posh have improved since Norburn came back after 11 months injured & Joe Ward out of contract in the summer is putting himself in the shop window but still frustrating at times . Hope we can sign Nathanael Ogbeta in the summer , some player he is . Onto Derby at home next Saturday , should be decent game dependant on which Posh turn up .
We were really good today I thought. Shrewsbury we well organised and defended well, they’re no mugs but they barely had a sniff. Hirst is looking better every game, he’s a unit and not afraid to do the dirty work. Burns has really picked up and was excellent, and Clarke is improving every game. Playing like this we are a match for anyone but we’ll have to wait and see if our dodgy spell around Xmas will cost us.
Good result today nicking the 1-0 away to Wycombe. They play to a plan, and disrupt the opposition, putting pressure on. Very savvy, but we have resilience ourselves and have built up lovely momentum. Wycombe will take points off some of the higher teams I'm sure. Upwards and onwards.
I thought JCH and the entire midfield were superb today and overall no-one had a bad game, although it was easy to forget we had a defence as they had very little to do...I know they were unbeaten at home before today, but can you imagine being a Lincoln fan and having to watch 5/4/1 and try and hit them on the break every 2nd week in your home games. They must be gutted
Yes awful from Derby today, but take nothing away from Fleetwood, who could have been 4 up at half time, they deserved the 3 points and worked there balls off. So well done to them and the fans who made the trip to PP today. Now we have 2 massive games away to Peterboro which will be tough, and at home to Ipswich, we must get our performance levels back up, to stand any chance at all of picking up some more points.
The race for 2nd is very exciting. Town and Barnsley are looking very strong at the moment, Plymouth slightly less so but with the two point advantage and a favourable run in, they're still in pole position.
Fair play to the Addicks fans yesterday , they've tipped up at The Shabbey with hammer & nails to knock another nail into the relegation coffin , their team then go 2 up & then have the audacity to let Scumbridge get a goal back before going home with all 3 points & knocking another nail into the relegation coffin on their way out ... nice
I am surprised to see so little confidence...you big clubs are usually reeking in 'divine right' arrogance. Don't worry there is no middle ground with Posh we will will dick someone 5-0 one week and lose by the same score the week after...its just a case of which Posh team turns up on the day.
Do yourself a favour and watch Mark 'itchy and scratchy' Bonner and his post match interview. Apparently for the 28th game running they were magnificent. It's amazing they have only won a couple in that time considering such magnificence. The man is a deluded joke I would love to send them down at the Shabbey in mid April. It's just a shame that they have such a poxy tinpot ground that only a handful of Posh fans will get to witness the joy. It looks like the two Scum fans that used to post on here early season when they were no quite so shite have disappeared for good...typical fair weather scum fans. Never mind, they will all be out in force in a few years time at the Conference Play-off final.
For Derby to get anything next week will take a massive improvement on our performance against Fleetwood, very tough game this one, would take the draw if offered it right now, as i think Posh will turn us over, we are struggling at the moment.
Could happen...like I said the 'other Posh' could turn up who are easily capable of losing 0-3 at home to Cheltenham. It really is a lottery with us.
Aw no thanks , it'll put me off my dinner . 1,473 total allocation for Scumbridge. I don't do aways these days only a midweek at the g-g's but I've never seen us win at The Shabbey in my 2 visits seeing a 3-1 loss & 2-2 draw with injury time equaliser but that was when you were in a penned enclosure near the pitch & not half a mile away & yep , that'd be a great day for Posh fans if we were to relegate them that day , folklore stuff We're a bit weird Birdy atm . Under McCann we had cracking home record but couldn't buy an away win yet under Fergie our home form has been iffy whereas our away form has been pretty good albeit against teams lower in the table . We have our best defender ( in some people's eyes ) Ronnie Edwards away on international duty for England Under 20's so either Josh Knight or fit again Kell Watts should come in to replace him .
Other than maybe a 10 minute spell after they scored they are the worst team we’ve played this season.
So we had apparently been informed by Jamaica that Greg Leigh was in their squad for the international break and the EFL agreed to postpone our game with Barnsley on that basic, only for their squad to be announced today and he isn't in it Barnsley fans rightly pretty pissed off about it.
Seems poor from Jamaica, changing their minds so late on with documentation complete and hotels booked etc.. Sure they have their reasons though, who knows. Swings and roundabouts a bit, we’re in great form at the moment but who knows what state the team will be in by the time we play them at the end of April. Injuries, suspensions etc. at the end of a very busy run of games. And who knows whether we’ll be as good at Derby after a 2 week break than we might have been without it. Can see why Barnsley might prefer to play us without Burns and Broadhead though. These International breaks aren’t ideal for anyone, even down in this division.
Mark 'itch and scratchy' Bonner does not think so...he claims they completely dominated the second half? He really is filthy animal so perhaps there was shit in his eyes.
