Khamzat is definitely exciting to watch, but he is gonna come a cropper soon. He can’t manage his stamina and he’ll gas in a 5 round fight (when someone can actually take him that far)

unfortunately the most exciting fighter in the roster (imo) just lost to khamzats twin at the weekend

Great card last night. Poirier vs Chandler didn’t disappoint. Great fight and props to both guys. Absolute warriors.

adesanya must be kicking himself. Got robbed in their first fight, then stopped late (whilst winning) in the last round of the next 2. Pereira was out at the end of the 1st. Literally a second away from being stopped, 1 more punch. He couldn’t even communicate with him corner fro the first 30 seconds of the break. Got saved by the bell in the 3rd them pulls off the late win. Unbelievable. They’ve gotta run it straight back surely

RIP! that is no age especially for a super fit fighter. Any idea what happened?

Long term illness. Lymphoma apparently. Way too young.

One of the p4p hardest punchers ever imo across any sport.

really sad news. He was always fun to watch, how he ever made WW is an absolute mystery? I thought his early death may have been linked to weight cutting/ped use (assuming he used certain substances to help make weight). He’s definitely left his mark and has his own unofficial weight class when a fighter misses weight by a large amount. I believe chimaev vs Holland was fought at rumble weight!

He's suffered from non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for the last year or so, I'm not sure if it's linked or more likely due to PED use.

He has admitted to using them though, when he took his break from the sport and went up to 260 or so lbs body building.

He died from organ failure because of the Lymphoma. Nothing to do with his lifestyle.

I can't believe they've given that to Paddy. I think there'll be some fall out from that decision, especially the way that he's reacted to it saying the fight wasn't even close  Perhaps too many yes many around him, if they aren't cutting out that level of delusion.

He'll get his knocked out if he fights someone like Topuria, but after that performance I think they'll be avoiding that sort of fight at all costs.

Honestly reckon that Paddy decision was the worst I’ve ever seen. That’s a rigging.

Here's the fans and medias verdict, I guess there's always going to be an outlier or two with judging but that all three judges scored it that way is insane.

you’ve obviously forgot Ross Pearson vs diago Sanchez, or nam Pham vs Leonard Garcia. In fact there’s a few horrible decision involving Garcia and especially Sanchez.

I’m not one to quickly call foul with a horrible decision, but it’s difficult to see how paddy’s fight was anything but. The first 2 rounds were closeish but I’d struggle to give him either. Pimblett is incredibly popular but his skills were always gonna be his issue. His jitz is legit but all of his boxing, and his wrestling are horrible. I struggle to see him beating anyone in the top 15. Any top class wrestler or striker with decent standup is gonna beat the sh*t out of him. We all knew what his ceiling would be when he was losing against domestic level guys at cage warriors. Luckily for him he’s got a rock solid chin, but it’s not gonna hold up against guys like fiziev, poirier, gaethge, Olivera. Even guys like dan hooker and Brad riddell will likely starch him
He’s like the opposite to conor, who is a great fighter but a vile human being. The ufc are gonna milk this as long as they can. He’ll be fed cans for the foreseeable future

i thought the reaction to the ankalaev vs jan fight was really weird. Jan showing that he’s pure class and instantly offering a rematch. The entitlement of Ankalaev and his team was embarrassing. Imo he lost the first 3 rounds and probably only got back in the fight because it was a short notice fight for Jan and he gassed. I don’t think this fight gets rematched, I don’t think ankalaev will take the fight.

    Rip Stefan bonner

sad to hear he died over Xmas. I know he had some tough times recently with his house burning down amongst other things. Not the best fighter but always fun to watch. The ufc, and mma in general owe much of their current success to bonner and griffin. I watched their fight the day he died and it was sloppy AF but such a great fight

Bonnar passing away, Dana slapping the shit out of his wife and now Phil Baroni charged with the murder of his girlfriend. Safe to say a terrible couple of weeks for MMA.

It’s ironic that dana gets caught slapping his missus right before the launch of his power slap show!
Regards Baroni, it looks like he’s beaten his girlfriend to death over her cheating on him? Unfortunately this sort of thing seems more common amongst fighters/boxers. You’d think with years of training you should have enough self control not to do horrible stuff like beating up your partner or worse.

Mcgregor vs chandler has been confirmed and they’re doing a season of tuf, which could be interesting.

Tough comeback fight for conor though at least he’s not getting special treatment by the ufc anymore. I actually think this is a favourable matchup for him. Chandler isn’t gonna rely on his wrestling, and he’s pretty basic on the feet other than that big right hand. Mcgregor should handle him if he’s still anywhere near what he was. I’d be very surprised to see this at 155, mcgregor looks like a bodybuilder in recent pics I’ve seen

Hope chandler retires him once and for all

Surprised he's coming back to fight a relevant guy. Was certain they'd give him a gimmick fight or easy opponent to ease him back in. Fair play. Haven't watched tuf in about 10 years now. Presumably UFC are gonna try and relaunch it with McGregor.

Hard to see it at 155 either tbh but it'll be interesting to see how McGregor's physique holds up when he's back in the testing pool.
