Dubai Newcastle United takeover talk look serious, but Mike Ashley's next move is what matters now

Possible exciting times for Newcastle fans but a huge problem could be on the horizon of the PL. How can brothers be owners of two separate PL clubs? The integrity of the competition is compromised if this takeover happens.

I heard the news last night on my way home from Wembley. If the football wasn’t bad enough, this news just made it somehow so much worse  Premier League champions within 6 years.

It's conflicting information. One report says cousin, another says brother. A quick look on the internet implies they are brothers.

Either way, it's irrelevant to the conflict of interest question.

Conflict of interest aside, it will be good if the Geordies finally get an owner who is trying to improve the club, rather than milk it for everything they can.

Being reported that a deal has been agreed in principle, be really interesting to see what Newcastle could do with some money behind them!

Very mixed feelings, I wish I wasn’t such a morally sound guy because I should be buzzing right now.

That said, hopefully the end of a pretty ****ing toxic 12 years.

    So a big 7 soon?

Other clubs may as well not bother showing up with even the Europa League out their reach in the near future.

Some reports suggesting Newcastle are skeptical about the deal .

IIRC, when Man City first got taken over, they went out and bought Robinho as one of their first big signings to 'announce' themselves.

Begs the question who Newcastle would go after? Should this all complete ok

How does Neymar fancy Tyneside on a Friday night in December? :)

Best of luck to Newcastle if the deal goes through. They otherwise are not going to have much chance to compete.

How unlucky can one club be. Ashley having the last laugh, selling to someone considerably more odious than himself.
