I would’ve preferred seeing a year of Ronaldo than a year of Aubameyang tbf

Or maybe sign someone that actually fits your style of play. Should have splashed some extra money last summer and got Haaland instead of Lukaku.

Is James Madison a bit of a bellend ? Past 2/3 years no one has really pushed the boat out for him

It's quite illogical for Villa to reject £25m tbh.

1 year left, wants to leave, doesn't start, they signed a replacement..

Not seeing a massive benefit tbh, but upto them. If I was Arsenal I probably would have gone upto £30m, just as it'll likely cost us CL football tbh so was worth it, but maybe the club just thought they wouldn't budge.

They'll be doomed if they get relegated this season unless they transfer half their squad to Olympiacos , should be a rule about this when 1 owner owns X amount of clubs .

    Why?

Their start to the season gives me some doubts as to whether they will go ahead and finish top 4 but the one thing they've lacked is a consistent goalscorer. The guy has a one in two record in the Premier League and has just had a decent half a season at Barcelona too.

He might not be an all-rounder or a long-term option for Chelsea but I certainly don't think a proven Premier League striker is going to harm their top 4 chances too much. He showed at Barcelona that he still has a knack for scoring goals and clearly hasn't lost his love for football. It obviously soured towards the end at Arsenal but I think it's a decent short term signing for Chelsea. I'd be surprised if he's not hitting double figures this season which is better than anyone else at Chelsea has done in a while.

The question is, if he will have the same problems as Lukaku. Both are better, when they have space in front of them and are no target men. Tuchel knows him though. So maybe he can get more out of him than Lukaku

Interesting to see how many goals Aubameyang does manage.

So reading about Arthur's general indiscipline, drink driving, lack of fitness, partying and even an 'alleged' STD.
    Quite a character.

I mean I 100% agree and it seems obvious now to say that. I think ever Chelsea fan here wanted to sign Haaland over Lukaku last summer and said if you’re going to spend £100M on Lukaku why not just get Haaland. The problem was the release clause wasn’t in effect, who knows how much City is actually paying in wages and other fees outside the release clause, and we’re not sure Haaland had interest in signing for any club other than Pep and City

Good riddance to that cnut Alonso from British football. Chelsea should be ashamed for having ever signed him, he was a stain on the club since day one.
