They’ve called off Non-League too for f*cks sake. Teams that get 100 fans through the door have to close but everything else is fine. F*ck off.
Would have been perfect time to let them go ahead with all the other football cancelled, they would have seen an uptick. Again, tonedeaf. How are organisations that churn this much money making decisions based purely on sentiment? Might be a useful thread for anybody on here who had train travel booked for the weekend.
I’d love to know we’re the news reporters find these people with such a hard on for the royal family. Men and Woman crying saying they will miss her. Simon Jordon saying he picked his 2 year old son up and just hugged him. Sports stars ringing in saying how much she will missed, and how inspirational she was after meeting her for 2 minutes. I’d rather meet Yerry Mina than any of that lot.
Dunno whats worse the fake tears for the Queen or the people on here crying cos a game of football has been called off. Just go the pub ffs
As I've just said in the Queen thread in CA, all adult amateur football in Scotland has been cancelled this weekend too as a mark of respect To be fair though, the Queens death and subsequent Premier League decision to cancel the football has united this entire forum! Has anything ever had everyone in here in agreement on something before? Ridiculous decision. *EDIT* and just like that, Johnny appears. No surprise an Everton fan is happy to not have to watch Everton.
I just don't get the over reaction because of one game being called off. Plus I normally last 10 minutes and turn it off if we're on.
Same in England, my boys game called off on Sunday, no football at any level this weekend. Grassroots forum on Facebook kicking off as always, jesus its one week, it was first game of the season, they can wait another week. Secretly relieved as his 1st game was against a team who will moved up in a week or 2, way too strong for that division so they can hammer some other sods before moving up.
The reaction is also because they made the decision at a ridiculously short notice, despite being instructed by the Government they were under no obligation to do so. And as a result the purely sentimental decision will impact people financially.
Rather that than a Tory club...like you lot. Founded by a Tory. Oh I agree it's absurd but it's only football.
Exactly. It’s only football. So why do they feel the need not to play it just because of the queens death.
It is people losing money during a cost of living crisis in the end. People who had made travel and accommodation arrangements, but also people who may be on zero hours contracts will not make money this weekend - and we do not know their situations.
I agree I said earlier have a minutes silence and carry on. Listen I agree it's stupid to cancel it...but the reaction is ott In my view.
