Sorry you’ve learned this today
My old man died on Weds night. He was very ill with cancer but we thought we'd have a bit longer with him, however he then suddenly collapsed and died in right in front of me.
Devastated, but I know he was scared about suffering so I'm glad he is at peace now. The last thing we did together was watch the football a couple hours before, which was kind of fitting.
Sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family are coping well. It is nice that after everything that has happened the past 18months you got to spend some time together on his final day.
That's a shame mate, best wishes to you and yours.
Sorry to hear that mate
Condolences to you and your family.
Sorry to read this Steve.
All the best to you and your family. X
Genuine question, and this isn’t meant as a slight at you in particular because it happens quite often but do people not read this thread before posting?
Personally I’d feel a bit silly posting my annoyance at my phone screen cracking a few hours after someone has posted about the passing of one of their parents? I’m not saying everyone should tiptoe around the forum forever, but at posting that in the same thread so soon after just seems incredibly crass too me.
As I said you don’t seem the type to be a bellend on purpose so I’m assuming you just didn’t see it, but it’s happened a few times in this thread over the years and it always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Really sorry to hear that man. My condolences.
Condolences to you and your family Steve, sad news mate.
Love you mate x
Our condolences to you and your family.
Hope you are all able to be strong for each other
So sorry to hear that, such an awful disease.
It might not help you right now but at least you were with him, in time it may help you knowing that he was not on his own when he passed, my Wife’s Nanna died of oesophagus cancer last year and we were all with her when she drifted away and it has been a massive help for us all to cope knowing she was with all of her loved ones at that final moment.
Sorry for your loss…
never know whether it helps grieving or not to be alongside a relative when they go. Take care.
I didn't read the thread, otherwise looking at this page and the previous posts I obviously wouldn't have posted what I did which by comparison is ridiculously trivial. I can assure you I wasn't being deliberately crass.
Apologies and condolences to Mr. Sheen.
Hi everyone thanks for the lovely messages. Each and everyone of them are really appreciated. Its been just under a week now but still a bit shocked, I guess it will begin to sink in soon.
@Pagnell no need to apologise at all. I didn't want to hijack the thread so please do moan away about your phone
I'm sorry to hear this fella ,my old man passed on the 22nd of May and we had his funeral the Friday just gone ,so believe me when I say I know what you're going through.
My condolences and thinking of you and yours fella.
Thank you mate, and so sorry to hear about your old man too. Best wishes to you and your family x
Obviously my complaint is nothing compared to the previous two posts, but had to go to the dentists after having a swelling in my mouth. Another infection due to my wisdom tooth so need to get that removed in a couple of weeks which I am not looking forward to. Had to have my lower-left one removed in October, and the week after was not fun.
Told my boss I want to take a week off after this one which she thankfully seems to be okay with, as last time the jawaches and headaches were the worst pain I have experienced after going back to work. (I teach English, so naturally I need to talk in my class otherwise there is no point in me being there). Hopefully since I can properly rest my jaw this time it won't be nearly as bad.
