Not sure if other clubs have announced their season ticket renewals for next year yet, but ours have just been announced this evening. Amazingly, despite them previously announcing prices were to go up due to overheads increasing etc, the club have taken the decision to freeze prices to help supporters with the cost of living going up! Great decision from the board, once again showing us how lucky we are to be rid of the previous regime and now in the hands of people that genuinely care for the fans! Well done CFC Trust
2022/23 Season Cards - Southend United Ours were held too for an early bird period, which was great news and take up was good. Also the bank transfer will help the cashflow through the summer.
Good stuff, I work for myself on a semi retired basis and have taken on extra work / hours so as not to put prices up for my customers. Let’s hope things improve pretty soon.
As Pendafad said, we opened ours for renewal a while back..i think just over 5k have taken it up so far, but there are also several in dispute as the club want them to move to make way for the prawn sandwich brigade...
Were we really early or is everybody else pretty late?! Over 5k renewals as mentioned in the early bird, over the course of the season I have heard/seen loads of people saying that they are getting one as getting match day tickets has been a struggle at times, however the number is going to be capped again as demand will far exceed supply. Sooner the new Kop is built, the better.
Apparently our existing season ticket holders had their renewal prices come through and they're actually significantly lower than last season, so much so that most people seem to think it's either a mistake or some kind of holding fee. Main Stand at £260 when it was £340 last season and the most expensive ticket in the Upper at £286 by all accounts. Absolute madness if those are the real prices, but fair play to the club if they are.
Checked our website yesterday and the early bird prices are still valid..I think up until the end of this month.
I'm expecting an increase in matchday prices. We've only 3000 home seats to sell with current ST numbers and with those prices above it seems 1878 are trying to drive an increase ST sales. I then expect offers for games with low away numbers to sell the Osmond as they have done for a few games this season. All sensible moves IMO. I wonder whether there are some ground redevelopment moves going on behind the scenes - as a relocation seems to be off the agenda. Phased rebuild of the Main and Osmond to take in the Harrington St corner? Would probably get us to 10k capacity which feels about right for now.
Any more figures around? Maidstone announcing ours in a few weeks. Probably waiting to see what others do. With future ground improvements to save up for, I doubt ours will be at the cheaper end of the range.
Ours were announced a few weeks back. £25 increase for adults early bird but a greater saving with match day prices going up £2 plus the extra game. We also offer memberships which essentially allow supporters to buy shares of the club (plus some other perks). They start from £325 for an adult and go all the way up to £1000.
Some brilliant value there especially for the younger ones, that 19-23 working out at only around £4.50 per game is superb value.
Thats down to the superb work of one of our most recent directors (and long time supporter) who’s been championing the free season tickets for under 16’s too. Get them into the club, there will be ancillary purchases on match day which help the club out but it also brings down the demographic age of supporters at match days. They are the future of Wealdstone.
