Announced for the end of 2020.

Is there any point? The lack of games on the PS4 surely must have been a sign that gaming is going in a different direction.

Can't believe there was no Boxing or Tennis game on PS4.

They say that the buttons will not have on DualShock-5 but it will have all touch button?? If it is true, that’s mean it’s huge disappointment. I don’t know why but DualShock’s buttons always make me happy. But an all-touch DualShock will definitely be soulless. I will miss the sound of X button.

Tennis games are shit now. Can’t beat the original Sega Virtua Tennis.

And a new Fight Night is heavily rumoured. Could maybe land on PS4 in time.

Lack of games on PS4? There are more than enough games for PS4. And they have sold over 100 million PS4 so there's still a market. But it will be interesting to see what the upcoming Google Stadia can.

There are Tennis games for PS4 like International Tennis and Tennis World Tour. And for Boxing there's Creed: Rise to Glory for PS4 but only for VR, I think. I don't have a VR set so never played it only heard about it. On PS3 there were a few more like Fight Night but I think they focussed then more on the MMA (UFC) games.

Haven't heard about that that there are no Buttons anymore. Only heard that the new Dualshock 5 will have "adaptive Triggers" that can be adjusted by the Software Developers. So you get a different feeling when e.g you tension a bow or just shooting a pistol.

Anyway, Release somewhere at the end of 2020. But I won't be a Day 1 Buyer. I own every Playstation since the Playstation 1 (which was the only PS I bought on release day) but I wait normally 1 year until they have a revision.

Can't see it happening especially when PS5 has been announced. Grand Slam Tennis 2 was pretty decent on PS3. I liked it.

Bro, I said Tennis and Boxing games

Yeah they did shift focus to UFC

Touch button sounds like a good addition but you know there will be issues when it comes to sensitivity etc.

    :confused

I named 2 Tennis games and 1 Boxing game. Don't know why you're laughing? They're maybe shit but they exist ( I play neither Tennis nor Boxing games on my PS4 because I'm not so interested in Sports games (not even in Fifa or PES). I'm more the RPG, Shooter, Stealth games guy ;) )

    btw: Bro? Really?

Developers don’t give up on a console just because a new one has been announced.

A huge game like GTA5 was released on PS3 only a couple of months before the PS4 came out.

    Exactly.
The same with one of the premium titles on PS3, Naughty Dog's "The Last of us".
Came out a few months before the release of the PS4 (and with a remastered version for PS4 a few months after the release of the PS4. )
Btw: The same will happen with "The last of us 2". Will be released still on PS4 in 2020 although there were rumours that it will be an only PS5 exclusive game for the start of the PS5.
Developers will at least develop games for PS4 for approx.1-2 years after the release of the PS5. And this is no waste of money for them because, as mentioned, there are over 100millions units of PS4 sold and the PS5 will be, for the first time ever for a Playstation, downward compatible. So you can still play your PS4 games even on PS5 (not with the extended features of the PS5, though, but it's now possible. Microsoft has this feature for quite a time. At last Sony has followed now. About time)

Sony had backwards comparability on the PS2.

yes, and even on the first PS3 (Fat lady) you could play PS2 games. But with the Slim PS3 revision they removed this feature and now (some) PS3 games can only be played on PS4 by subscribing to Sony's PS Now streaming feature.

Yeah they’re slowly converting to that. Making you effectively pay for a game you used to own before, twice.

Before the PS Now streaming feature was introduced I became one of the Beta Testers in Germany. But I didn't subscribe to it later (mainly because I still own my PS3 and also because I had some lags. And the final price of (I think), 14,99€ per month wasn't worth it.
But I heard they have reduced the price now to 9,99€ (don't know the brit.pound price). Maybe because they have too few subscribers for this feature (I have PS Plus with monthly 2 "free" games that's enough for me. The other games I'm interested in I still buy via PSN Store (digital) or on Blu-Ray).

The only reason I continued buying Playstation was purely for Metal Gear Solid. Other games included PES and GTA.

Hideo Kojima isn't with Konami anymore so Metal Gear series is done. Don't think I'll buy the PS5 unless Fight Night makes a return or a decent Tennis game. Or I have grown up.

  14. I don't think I'll be getting the next ones. I've really moved away from console gaming during this generation.

I've kind of moved away from consoles. Not really played anything full on since Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain and probably FIFA 19.

    I think I've grown up.

It’s nothing to do with growing up, you just choose to spend your free time differently.

I actually game more now in my 30s than I used to because I’m out drinking less. So it can work the other way. And if my partner is working I won’t watch any TV as we watch most things together so I’ll go on the Xbox.

People will say they’ve grown up and they’re “too old to game” but they’ll spend a whole Sunday in their dressing gown binging Peaky Blinders on Netflix. It’s no different.

Played fight night games on ps3. tend to get bored of fight games pretty quick. As you say now they have developed the UFC games they're much better to play. More aspects to the sport means more to the game as boxing games have always been button bashers to varying extents.

The novelty of the UFC games wore off for me. I got UFC3 and was done with it within a month. I enjoy it most when I play it like a boxing game anyway, standing up and trying to strike.

When it gets to grappling on the floor or submissions they turn shit, it’s just about pressing buttons and moving sticks in a timed sequence to escape.

    ^This.
You're never too old to game. I'm in my mid50's and still enjoy it (ok, when my daughter kills me in a koop match...then not so much  )

I grew up when the first video games and consoles were introduced in the 70's ( Pong anyone? ) and was always fascinated by the development the video games have made over the decades. And it's so relaxing to play a game (not so much when playing Dark Souls for the first time and dying 100's of deaths which cost me once a PS3 controller because I smashed it to the wall back then but I mastered the game nonetheless)

btw: some pics "leaked" about the PS5 Dev-kits. It won't be the final look and I really hope so. Looks shite. I really love the design of my PS4pro.
