    Earth's equatorial diameter = 12756.2 km
    Earth's polar diameter = 12713.6 km

    So, frinstance, if the diameter of the image on the screen you're looking at was 100mm across the equator, it should be 99.666mm across the poles - assuming there's no distortion in the image.

    Been a few years and no-one can explain it.
